The article isn't stating that Pat could start the playoff game. It's stating that Reid could turn to Mahomes mid-game depending on Pats performance this week, and Alex's performance in the playoff game.

Still, it's a longshot. Pat would have to completely light it up this week, and Alex would have to lay a complete dud in the first half of the playoff game. I'm talking three or four INTs in the first half.
