Dorsey used to do this a lot. I'd like veach to do more of it. Interestingly... Dorsey used to pick uo lots of no names from the scrap pile. Veach seems to go for well known players who fizzled out. Each approach could work. But it's an interesting pattern

BV appears to be a mix of conservative and aggressive. He makes fairly big moves on the cheap. No risk here, whatsoever. This team needs a good wake up call. The signing sends a message to the team -- Reid isn't happy with the secondary-- and it hopefully includes cutting Gaines. Ragland looked good last week. We won't know about Erving for some time. The Mahomes selection has affected Alex Smith's game in good ways and Mahomes gets to learn from Smith. On the field, DJ is getting fewer reps and that's another good message. It's a meritocracy. And if that's the case, Smith better win this week.

Get Mahomes some game experience to learn from his early mistakes so he can hit the ground running in 2018. Don't give a rat's ass about the rest of this season, cause we ain't doing shot with Smith in the playoffs. The future is now. |
