And we'll never really know IF BV is his own man calling the shots or is just window dressing for Andy. But I get your point and agree.

Pats have very good "football eyes" in their scouting dept. and know exactly what type of player they are looking for that fits their offensive and defensive schemes that give that player the best opportunity to succeed and that is key. Knowing your system and what type of players will work in your system as opposed to just throwing darts to see what sticks as most teams do.

A lot of times with NE it's not so much a fit as it is letting a player be one dimensional in a pt role. Someone tries to make a player an every down player and fails and NE gets them to do just what they do well.

Faces of positions but Andy is GM/HC.

God I ****ing hope not. Seems to me that someone with the types and uber-high count of coaching and game day flaws that Reid possesses would be FAR better served working on the primary responsibility for which he was hired and concentrating upon the removal of the log in his OWN damned eye.

Now about that QB position................**** IT, WHY NOT? Where is that attitude there?

I'd wager it's not unanimously popular among the staff to play Alex Smith.

Veach was Mahomes’ biggest supporter on the staff pre-draft.

Too late in the season and he’s ****ing smart not start him. He would look like a dumbass if Mahomes couldn’t go in 2018 due to injury from playing in dumpster fire season.

don't make it like kc is 0-10. and there is no guarantee that alex won't get hurt in his next start to usher in the mahomes era.

****ing over reacting when not necessary. :D

One and done in playoffs with or without Mahomes

Yeah 5-0 to 6-4 (we know why) yet still leading division = dumpster fire, we have given up 50percent less sacks during the skid than when we were 5-0. Quit blaming the line for Alex being a pussy,

Don't agree that is true with mahomes,

chiefzilla1501 11-23-2017 05:35 AM

Dorsey used to do this a lot. I'd like veach to do more of it. Interestingly... Dorsey used to pick uo lots of no names from the scrap pile. Veach seems to go for well known players who fizzled out. Each approach could work. But it's an interesting pattern

BV appears to be a mix of conservative and aggressive. He makes fairly big moves on the cheap. No risk here, whatsoever. This team needs a good wake up call. The signing sends a message to the team -- Reid isn't happy with the secondary-- and it hopefully includes cutting Gaines. Ragland looked good last week. We won't know about Erving for some time. The Mahomes selection has affected Alex Smith's game in good ways and Mahomes gets to learn from Smith. On the field, DJ is getting fewer reps and that's another good message. It's a meritocracy. And if that's the case, Smith better win this week.

I like Mahomes a great deal, actually love the guy. If you think he can just come into this season and win us a playoff game, you my friend, are delusional.

Or it could be the smart play.

Get Mahomes some game experience to learn from his early mistakes so he can hit the ground running in 2018.

Don't give a rat's ass about the rest of this season, cause we ain't doing shot with Smith in the playoffs.

The future is now.
