I hadn't thought about Seals & Croft in decades and then in the course of one week, HemiEd leads off this thread with their video and I learn that Glenn Campbell was once in a band with them before any of them hit it big. I love coincidences like that.

I met a old guy, via his wife who works for one of my clients, who won an Emmy for sound mixing on some mid-70's hit. He claims the sound back then is far superior to the sound today.

Also, because he did not have a college degree, USF, refused him a teaching position—despite decades of experience as an audio engineer.

Heard last night, from Laura Ingraham sitting in for Carlson last night, on the tribute to Campbell segment that he even filled in for missing Beach Boy Brian Wilson.

The RIP thread in the lounge has an interesting article about him and it mentions that. Even more surprising to me, he was asked to join The Beach Boys as a permanent member but turned them down to pursue a solo career.

that's because the beach boys wanted him to sing the high parts and play the bass. Campbell was plenty capable of doing that but realized that would not make much use of his talents
