I can't think of one time I've eaten BBQ outside of KC though, except for maybe a pulled pork sandwich or two... WTF would I do that?

I had Snead's burnt ends once and they were some of the best I ever had, then I went again and they tasted old. Probably just a consistency issue

Randomly stopped at a place outside of at Louis once in a road trip called Banderos I think. ****ing awful

Though, honest to god, I think Gates is pretty terrible. Sucked so bad we didnt got for seven years, the one day out of the blue after a royals game we decided to hit it up.....Yep....still sucked..

LCs. Burnt end were duo salty I couldn't eat them. And I almost skipped on that greasy ****ing floor.

You guys who think Famous Dave's is the worst have never truly had terrible BBQ. It absolutely can get worse than that.

How would you rate Rudy's BBQ?

I think Rudy's is decent myself, but I'm not a big sauce guy. I like quality meats and rubs. KC has that AND sauce.

Other than KC, there is some shitty place the locals rave about in Sioux City. Rolling Smoke in Vegas is okay, but still pretty shitty.

Thank you! Everybody loves that place. I've at there twice and the meat was burnt both times. And I like BBQ places to be homely and kind of a dive, but that place was disgustingly dirty.

I've had a ton of shit BBQ, all because I had a hankering for Q. I hate myself sometimes.

Probably some outfit in Sidney. Don't even remember the name.

If Famous Dave's is the worst you've ever had, you've lived an incredibly sheltered, ridiculously lucky life.

The next BBQ I eat, I'm going to Famous Daves. I don't even know what it tastes like. I want to go to try it, to see how utterly shitty it actually is.

I can dig some Famous Dave's. Maybe I got extremely lucky but their brisket was ****ing delicious. Everything else was edible to pretty good.

I'm almost certain you mean Bandanas, and they're everywhere because they're decent, reliable and popular. They started out of shut-down Shoney's in Arnold in about 1995, and now stretch from Iowa to Indiana.

They're not on par with a BBQ haven like Joe's KC or Bogart's, but they're 'chain good.' Like a Texas Roadhouse steak. They are really good at keeping their brisket moist, and getting a lot of smoke into their chicken.

Worst I had was Red's in Maryville, IL. Back in the mid-90s I was dating a girl in Edwardsville, and her dad loved their BBQ. But part of that was it was about the only BBQ anywhere in the area at the time. Stringy meat with no evidence of slow smoking, and thin red sauce with no spice.

It's closed now, with plenty of competition [including Bandana's] to take it's place in the mean time.

It's meh chain food. It is really consistent, but it tastes like everything is prepared offsite, and just warmed up.

I've heard Little Miss is good and the wife likes it but she doesn't have the standards I do. Rudy's is edible, I suppose

It's not shitty. It's just mediocre chain BBQ. If you are not in the midwest it may be the best you can get.
