I'm almost certain you mean Bandanas, and they're everywhere because they're decent, reliable and popular. They started out of shut-down Shoney's in Arnold in about 1995, and now stretch from Iowa to Indiana.
They're not on par with a BBQ haven like Joe's KC or Bogart's, but they're 'chain good.' Like a Texas Roadhouse steak. They are really good at keeping their brisket moist, and getting a lot of smoke into their chicken.

Worst I had was Red's in Maryville, IL. Back in the mid-90s I was dating a girl in Edwardsville, and her dad loved their BBQ. But part of that was it was about the only BBQ anywhere in the area at the time. Stringy meat with no evidence of slow smoking, and thin red sauce with no spice.
It's closed now, with plenty of competition [including Bandana's] to take it's place in the mean time.
