Lets do it!!!!!

Good job. A nice, early GDT. None of this last-minute or after the first pitch bullshit. We expect the team to bring their 'A' game. We need to as well.

It's the same amount of daylight! :banghead:

I get thirsty every time I hear the word Arizona-makes me want to fill up a canteen. :) Some of the most beautiful scenery in the country though-so I guess it is a fair trade.

Ah. True dat.

Most underrated pitcher in baseball. Since 2012, he's had 52 no decisions. That's changed this season only one so far and that was game 2.

Good luck this weekend should be a fun series!

I do wonder if Chicago will be distracted by all the bling we bring

The bling that we bring that will sing that we are Kings.

He doesn't have overpowering stuff either. He just has really good command. He's also had an increase in velocity on his fastball so that's helped.

You gals are severely lacking in the bling dept. 2 pennants in 97 years (points finger in your face, laughs). We've done that the past 2 years alone.

Would dearly love to spank these greasy scumbags.

But at least no Chris Sale.

He did six months in Chino for exposing himself to an 8 year old.

So taking a quick look at Quintana's numbers compared to last year specifically:

his GB% is down to 39.6% from 47.1% from last season and his flyball% is up to 36.1% compared to 29.7% last year. Digging a little deeper, it seems odd considering that he is throwing his sinker 13% more than he was using it at the end of last season (9/2015: 10.8%, 5/2016: 23.9%). Doesn't really make sense to me. Or are these figures not drastic enough to be weary of?

On top of that, with the increased flyball rate, his HR/FB rate is way down from last year and his career norms and his xFIP doesn't like it (3.49 compared to an ERA of 1.54 and FIP of 2.19).
Quintana's HR/FB rate in 2015 was 8.6% and so far in 2016 it is a quite-minute 1.9%

Seems pretty odd considering the increase in flyballs, right? Or should we let sample size increase before making any judgments?
