Not sure why Ventura agrees to that deal but I'm not complaining. Dayton drops the mic with the Salvy deal and this one.

It's just like last year and the playoffs. If Moose and Hosmer hit, we'll be dangerous. If they don't, we'll try to float by and pitch our way to the playoffs.

Latin American players are often willing to do this. Poor all their lives, signed for peanuts, and now they can either wait another 3 or 4 years to finally get real money, or they can just go ahead and start collecting millions now. American players from upper-middle class families who have a signing bonus in the bank have an easier time waiting for arbitration.

We have his rights for 5 more years anyway. So that part of the contract provides him financial security in case he gets hurt.

The kicker is the two club options. If that's that right, we can claim his first two years of free agency. He'll be turning 31 the year he's a free agent. That's amazing for the Royals.

It would be huge for KC if Eibner truly is finally "getting it." He's got great RH pop and is a high-quality defensive outfielder. Could be a nice, cheap piece for several years.
