So, Dorsey looks for guys who have to have something elite about them, right?

Elite size, or elite speed, or elite stats from college play... Something has to show off the charts, and he's willing to overlook things like injury.

Fisher: it was his elite potential and long arms; all teams drank the koolaid
Kelce: Elite YAC and hands for a TE
Davis: Elite size & speed combo... That weight and that 40 time together
Johnson: Elite resume (bust)

Ford: Elite first step, elite body of work
Gaines: Elite length, speed, and pbu stats
DAT: Elite speed and wiggle
Murray: Elute resume

Some are reaches, but if I had to sum it up, Dorsey looks for guys who grade a 95+ on some evaluation point.

I'm keeping that in mind as we look at guys this week.

What's everybody's opinion on Florida OT Trent Brown?

6'8", 355 lbs, 36" arms. LMAO Only put up 20 reps, but those are some long-ass arms.

Dropped some weight for this Combine, but is still too much of a lumbering cow for what KC needs. They need some quickness for the screens and pass pro more than they need power.

The 2015 Combine - new and improved with accurate 40 times.

Cool little tidbit. I had no idea the unofficial times were all from Casserly sitting in the stands.

Combine to introduce live timing … Long-time combine watchers will notice one huge change in the way the 40 is presented when the offensive linemen start lumbering down the straightaway tomorrow. As reported by this CBS Sports article, in recent years every player was actually credited with two 40-times. The first was an unofficial time that was posted immediately after each run and was a hand-timed clocking made by former NFL exec Charlie Casserley who was actually just sitting in the stands. Then after everyone in a group had completed both their runs, electronic times, which were deemed as official, were released collectively by combine officials. The problem was that the initial hand clockings tended to be up to a tenth or more slower than the so-called official electronic time and needless to say led to a certain amount of confusion, especially because news agencies tended to jump on really good initial times, which then would be factored lower later on. Starting this year, though, the NFL network will be showing real time 40 clocking, including things like the 10-yard splits, which many teams in fact consider to be more valuable for positions like the offensive linemen than the full 40 time. Should be interesting.

Very interesting...

Adding onto Ereck Flowers resume: a 10-yard split of 1.78, among the best so far.

Anybody know anything about Jamil Douglas? OL out of Arizona State.

6'4", 304, 33+" arms, 28 reps, 1.75 10 yard split.

Direckshun 02-20-2015 09:10 AM

Jake Fisher, unsurprisingly, displaying awesome athleticism.

Flowers, unsurprisingly, looking a bit lumbering.

Direckshun 02-20-2015 09:15 AM

Holy shit -- TE Tyler Kroft strained his ankle at the medical inspection BECAUSE DOCTORS TWISTED THE JOINT TOO MUCH.

What the hell, doctors?

So, Cedric ogbu. .. whatever, chiefs talked to him about playing rt.

That good? Where would we drsft him round wise?

Direckshun 02-20-2015 09:23 AM

This isn't Combine related, but McShane has been blowing Arik Armistead today.

Like the rest of the OL in this year's class, he's a finesse tackle.

Fantastic athleticism, could be stronger but has phenomenally long arms and very good athleticism. Keep in mind Dorsey is radically obsessed with arm length.

I don't know about RT, but he has all the tools to be a Top 10 LT in the NFL. He was the #1 tackle prior to the season.

Then the season happened, and for whatever reason, he struggled mightily.

He's a project with huge potential. In other words, he's a frontrunner to be our 1st round pick.

Direckshun 02-20-2015 09:32 AM

La'el Collins looking great in pass protection drills...

I don't think he's Dorsey material, though. Arm length isn't elite.

Direckshun 02-20-2015 09:41 AM

Overall, this OL class is pretty good, but clearly inferior to last year's.

Nobody's posted a sub-5.0 time. The 10 yard splits are inferior. Their bench performance was lackluster.

Some good athletes, but it's a roughly average year.

RunKC 02-20-2015 10:29 AM

TJ Clemmings folks. Get used to that name bc if there is one OT Dorsey will have a raging mega boner for its him.

6'5" 309 lbs 10+inch hands and 35" arm length.

Dorsey looks for arm length athleticism and upside. This guy was a former TE who plays nasty and has very good athleticism.

Prototypical Dorsey player here

Fisher's replacement then?

RunKC 02-20-2015 10:38 AM

I wonder how they feel about Jeff Allen? Is he going to RT or staying at G?

There's Quite a few quality G candidates in the draft. I hope we take one.
