Sure he was. Him and Brady won divisions for over a decade .. parts around them changed ... and they always won.

Now...

did either of them do it?

No. But they were top contenders every year.

They both won all of their Super Bowls with plenty of help from the other 52 guys on their roster. One of them used cheating as well.

And he said as much in the Presser yesterday,

you know

basically saying, "go ahead Peyton, run it yourself."

I think his arm is getting weaker with age and it going to catch up to him next year...

I think you mean, EVER.

He can think that D in the post-season for that SB win.

oh

his D brought them back from down 18 in the AFCCG against Tom Brady?

I forgot!

stevieray 01-21-2015 04:26 PM

shocking!

Just Passin' By 01-21-2015 04:26 PM

If the drop off was because of injury, and his arm's decline is much less than it appeared, he should come back.

The defense carried Fivehead "3 TD to 7 INT, worst playoff passer rating of a Super Bowl-winning quarterback" Manning to that ring.

And another playoff loss and one-and-done to add to his all-time NFL records in those categories.

Chief_For_Life58 01-21-2015 04:31 PM

Why would he not come back for 20 mill

he actually had a 74 QBR for that postseason

he also led them back from down 18 against Tom Brady in the AFCCG

He was Super Bowl MVP after controlling the ball for 39 minutes in the Super Bowl and also erasing a 10 point 1st half deficit against the Bears

any more myths you'd like me to dispel?

In 2007 and 2011 Tom Brady played two MISERABLE (by his own admission) AFC Championship Games and his teams won despite poor QB play. Why is this never discussed?

Red Dawg 01-21-2015 04:38 PM

Elway is stupid. The guy will be 39.5 years old when the season starts. I realize Gary will do a ton of running plays but still Manning is too old to win when that isn't working.

Hootie 01-21-2015 04:38 PM

in the 2007 AFC Championship Game, Tom Brady posted a QBR of 18 (worst of the year, by far) in the AFC Championship Game against the Chargers...

in 2011, (the Lee Evans game), Tom Brady is quoted as saying, "Well, I sucked pretty bad today, but our defense saved us," Brady said after throwing for 239 yards, with two interceptions and, for the first time in 36 games, no TD passes. "I'm going to try to go out and do a better job in a couple of weeks, but I'm proud of this team, my teammates."

BUT NO ONE EVER SAYS TOM BRADY WAS CARRIED TO HIS LAST TWO SUPER BOWLS BY HIS TEAMMATES.

Of course, everyone knows his first 3 he was just the game manager, so I won't even go there (plus Spygate). Although, his 1 postseason TD pass in 2001 was very, very impressive.

Because Brady has won playoff games and SB's with his arm. He's been the main reason his team won.

Manning hasn't. In most of Manning's playoff losses HIS poor play was why the team lost and in his only SB win Manning's attempts were some of the lowest of his career...

His decline was evident before the quad injury.
