The Tigers like Hootie at -173 is too high.

Now its -180. That seems a little excessive, but still this game looks tough.

Fact is... Al North game threads will always get priority because they kick ass.

There isn't a GDT any better! It don't matter if the Royals win or lose, his GDT's rock. And I might add, that it has nothing to do with the mojo our kiddie fan club likes to spew out of their keyboards.

Thank You, Mr. AustinChief!

I guess Vegas is taking into account the lack of runs the Royals have scored recently. No one would be surprised if Scherzer shutout the Royals.

I am not worried about this game at all. The last time we faced him he gave up 10 runs in 4 innings. Additionally, he only has one quality start in his last 4 outings. He is trending downwards and we will continue it. I predict we win 6-3.

The last time the Royals put up 6 runs was August 26 vs the Twins. No way they're doing it here.

Maybe all 7 or 8 hits can happen in one inning and we'll get shut out the other 8.

Key to this game: Which Vargas vs. Detroit outcome do we see?

He's pitched three games against the Tigers this year. In one of them, he was shelled (giving up 7 ER in 4 IP, I believe). In the other two, he has been excellent, posting an ERA under 2 and pitching deep into each contest.

KC is going to need the good outcome today to take this one. Would help if the bats showed up, too...

The bats haven't showed up in a good 2-3 weeks. I'm not counting the 5-run outburst yesterday. I call those runs "garbage time".

Yeah, that's fair.

This offense has been up and down all year. Hopefully, it cycles back up in time for the playoffs.

We have seen this several times this year, all in one inning and then poof, the air is done out of the bag.

I hope it's soon or we will not see the playoffs. Seriously, if we only score 1 or 2 runs a game from here on out, we are watching other teams in the playoffs on TV.

In to destroy Max.

Scherzer has one good start against us and one really bad start as well. If we get bad Scherzer and good Vargas we can take this game no problem. We also need to let the Tigers make the errors they are accustomed to making instead of us being sloppy and flat like yesterday.

Mr. Arrowhead 09-09-2014 11:47 AM

crazy Vargas has lower ERA than Max
