It's a funny show, if a bit obvious and predictable

Because they cater to the lowest common denominator. The people who talk about how hilarious Two and a Half Men is are usually the ones who spend half of their paycheck on lottery tickets and only get 5 channels.

It's easily digestible, easily relatable, sharply written traditional multi-cam sitcom.

It's not French haute cuisine, it's a fresh well-prepared Big Mac.

OldSchool 08-04-2014 01:43 PM

Never found this show to be funny.

Yup. I like the show a lot. Not because I think that it's making television history or because it challenges me to think in new ways, but because it's consistently good for a few chuckles while I'm relaxing in the evenings.

As Howard Sterrn put it, "that show, like most of what they pump out recently, is about as funny as a chemotherapy session".

My daughter is the same way and she loves comedy and writing comedy. She loves The Family Guy.

I didn't like it at first. You have to watch more than a few times to get into the character's humor. Then it's a riot!

Very well written script! More to the intellectual side. I've never seen characters like this before tho. I never took to many sitcoms before.

Those are in addition to the $1 million per episode. These actors are set for life.

Type cast for life too—just like most of the Friends cast, most of whom can't find lucrative work but still have plenty of residuals rolling-in.

Are the jokes really THAT hard to understand at all?

That one was funny too. Preferred with Charlie Sheen and the younger boy as a youngster more.

I understand them fine.

It's simply one of the worst comedies on TV. Its sole point of value is that no other show on TV depicts academia as accurately. But for the most part it is so unfunny that it makes me angry. Many of the jokes aren't jokes at all; they are simply references to nerd culture or science dressed up in sentence structure & syntax that makes it come across like a joke - basically only finding a more clever way of saying "have you heard of ComicCon?" *cue laugh track* "Do you, audience, know what polymer is?" *cue laugh track*

That was the point. Why are people acting like this show is any smarter than any other show? All their jokes are "Look at these nerds doing nerd things and speaking nerdy language! Isn't that hilarious?!"

kcxiv 08-04-2014 02:00 PM

Most popular sitcom on tv, they were going to get paid big money. The million per episode plus Syndication money. Set for life.

Well some of it is, some of them words i have no ****ing clue what they are saying. Hell, even the cast members talk about having no clue what they are saying sometimes. lol
