They are scheduling a bone scan and a couple of other tests to see how far it has spread. He said Dr said if it hasn't spread we can slow it down with radiation. If it has spread there will is little chance to stop it or slow it down.
My dad was rather matter of fact, almost happy sounding and was quick to get off the phone citing that he needed to call my sisters and the rest of the family.
The oddest conversation I have ever had in 44 years.

Sorry to hear that man. My dad has had a few biopsies over the years. He would get these PSA tests and his protein levels would be off the charts making it look like he had fatal cancers. We thought he had it bad several times, but apparently he has a rare condition where he secretes way higher levels of the protein that the test targets making it look like he had cancer. Really scary times. He did have to have some surgeries and such.
Make sure to get yourself checked down the road if you fit the age group, this stuff is supposed to run in families. This is a really common type of cancer in older guys, and there are many types of slow growing prostate cancers as well.
