How do you know if they read what you tweet?

Because they never respond when I tweet at them.

I've got responses from both of my "famous" followers. I think its weird for either of them to follow me. I'm not a funny guy and my politics are the opposite of Karl Rove's.

Yeah, a lot of the big accounts/famous accounts are only good if they retweet you. Especially the comics. A lot of them just tweet show dates and times. They don't favorite or RT anything, and barely interact at all.
But if you do get a RT from a large acct you can sometimes pick up like a bunch of new followers in a 24 hour span.

Like Jay Mohr or the Sklar Brothers. If they retweet you you can get 25-75 new followers.

I think i would be a little freaked out about Karl Rove following me in any fashion.

I figured it was a mistake. I've never tweeted anything even remotely political when he started following me. Figued it was a fake or parady account. Then I sent him a tweet about Democrats trying to take over Texas and he responded privately.
