I dunno, thats not really for me to decide. Maybe just a casual suit with no tie/nice dress shirt underneath. But thats what I would do. Maybe dress pants and a nice button up. Def leave your phone though.

  • Wear the suit. It's a sign of respect and desire for the position.
  • Be honest. No BS.
  • Highlight previous skills that are applicable to this job at every opportunity.
  • Be prepared for these questions
    • Why do you want this job?
    • Why do you bring to the job?
    • How do you deal with a bad boss? Escalate issues?
    • Worst personal trait
    • Where do you want to be in 5 years
    • How did you solve an issue that didn't have a ready made solution

Pretty much this. If you're asked a technical question that you don't know, don't be afraid to say you don't. But in doing so try and give them an idea the thought process you'd do to figure it out. In the years I did interviewing nothing would make me throw a resume into the can quicker was trying to BS a way through a question.

Aera called me up with a job offer. I passed my physical and drug test, I start with them on the 10th next month. I'm so ****ing excited right now. I'm still kinda shock. 700 people took that damn test. Unbelievable

Bugeater 10-20-2014 04:18 PM

It's about goddamn time, I've been wondering how this went for you.

Maybe 681 failed the drug test.

Anyway, congrats!

This has been a great day. Never had a career opportunity job. Took me 10 years to be a company man. Finally made it.

1. Dress appropriate for the interview.
2. Use your downtime to review the internet for information about the company. Let them know subtly that you know some things about their company.
3. Shake hands like a man, look them in the eye.(Pro tip...put 3-4 keenex in your pocket to dry your hand if nervous before shake)
4. Don't bullshit them. Give direct answers, show enthusiasm for work, the job and long term potential.
