I've had a couple of guys that I got for a dollar, and I snickered about it, but then realized that I would've preferred to sign him for a 3-year deal or more. I should have actually bid higher even with no competition.

That's what I did with Rod Streater, Jordan Cameron and Malcolm Smith last year.

I'd have done it with Clark but I'm out of money.

There's definitely a balance, but after dealing my first rounder, I'll have a little more match money if I want it it 2014.

With the holidays, I'm late in getting free agents up, but they are up now.

So, for next year's sandobx playoffs - Calvin Johnson, Joe Haden, Adrian Peterson and Case Keenum are all potentially in danger of not playing after week 17.

Is Jamaal Charles eligible to play in the playoffs even though he is most likely going to be inactive today?

My recollection was that CD makes guys that played in the playoffs eligible for post-season play on their respective sandbox teams.

The rest of them have some formula that determines their eligibility, I just don't recall what it is.

I just remember at least one player that was listed as probable going into week 17, but who was inactive due to coach's decision because the team had already clinched a playoff spot. He ended up playing in every playoff game including the super bowl.

I was curious if players on the Chiefs like Charles or Alex Smith who didn't play yesterday were likewise potentially subject to missing the post season or if we were going to put a new system into play.

It's a bit of an art and a science to look at playoff availability since it's hypothetical for most teams. The bottom line is that if a player is available to play, he should be available in the playoffs. The only question is if a player on a non-playoff team was injured and unavailable in Week 17. In that case, cdcox has an algorithm that I think includes some random factors.

Any player available on Week 17 is available throughout the playoffs. Sandbox playoffs are magical places where new injuries do not occur.

OK, I'm still looking to make a trade.

Needs:

C
CB
S
RB (backup RB is OK, just looking for someone with a decent amount of carries)
DE2

Starters/quality backups to offer:

DE Julius Peppers (46 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 3 PD, 1 INT, 2 FF) (if the offer is fair)
LG Garrett Reynolds (quality young guard)
LG Kevin Boothe
MLB D'Qwell Jackson (141 tackles , 1.5 sacks, 1 INT, 7 PD)
NT Barry Cofield (32 tackles, 2.5 sacks)
NT Antonio Johnson (22 tackles, 3 sacks, quality backup)
OLB Parys Haralson (30 tackles, 3.5 sacks, quality backup)
RT Jeremy Trueblood (2 sacks allowed)
TE Brandon Myers (47 catches, 522 yards, 4 TD)
TE Delanie Walker (60 catches, 571 yards, 6 TD)

Deals for a SS, C or HB I can pitch you back the following players as part of the deal:

SS Quintin Mikell
C Ryan Wendell
HB Brandon Bolden

Good :) - I would hate to lose Charles. Nick Foles wont be as effective without him...

I need AD in league 2. I will riot if he isn't available for playoffs.

Just remember - there's an element of fantasy football to Sandbox.

Sure, he could've played yesterday but he didn't. As a consequence, there were league championships lost in FFB on Sunday because guys didn't have their plowhorse RB1 to lead the way for them.

Sometimes circumstances kick us in the dick in FFB, so is the way of it in Sandbox as well. We haven't seen CD's playoff eligibility system in full throat yet, but he's been pretty fair across the board.

I had Charles and Johnson in my league with a 2-week championship round.

I took the lead into week 17....I did not keep it. MJD and Brian Hartline made pretty poor facsimiles of Charles and Megatron.
