I would lime to see Soler get a shot before making a trade. Agreed on Minor and Moylan but Soria and Herrera are still poor late inning guys.

I'd like the 7,8,9 to be Alexander, Minor, Herrera

Part of that is catchers who can frame vs Salvy.

Cleveland's catchers are generally good framers. Cleveland also has a lot of pitchers who throw two seamers and sliders and cutters, which are the hardest borderline pitches to call.

One of the most maddening things about baseball. Pitch framing. Just call the game without being impressionable.

We need a SS more than anything. Then a SP.

Bring back Madson may not be a horrible idea either.

We don't have a consistent 7-8-9 go to any more. That was a helluva luxury to have when we had the Bullpen we had in 14 &15

Esky has been improving. Moss is the worst on the team. We need a DH. And actually our starts from Junis and strahm havnt been bad

Why Not? 06-24-2017 09:18 PM

Junis has shown he belongs, so far. Jury's still out on Strahm as an MLB starter. We know he has the stuff, but can he get the mental part down? It's very early in his starting career so I'm certainly not panicked yet. The issue becomes can Strahm, Junis give decent performances for the next few months. That doesn't even include dumpster fire Kennedy who looks washed up to me. Plus, Hammel has stranded a lot of runners lately. A regression is certain at some point. Now, if Duffy can come back and be 2016 Duffy and Karns can continue how he was trending, we're in good shape. But adding an SP wouldn't hurt(if we decided to buy, which honestly I lean more towards staying put if we're not sellers).

That was a once-a-generation bullpen. We had 3 closers.

Yeah. Three of the top 5 relievers in baseball, in fact, over those two seasons.

It spoiled us. Set expectations for a pen at crazy levels.

As rough as Herrera has been at times this year, he has been above average in save situations overall. Just terrible in non-save spots.

SHit

After reading that article all I can dream about is Darvish becoming a Royal

No. Escobar is the worst hitter in MLB. His OPS is about .500. Moss is at .641. Mondesi should be our starting SS.

duncan_idaho 06-25-2017 07:36 AM

Mondesi's development is so important to the major league team moving forward, I'm definitely fine with giving him some more time to succeed at the AAA level and develop a little more with the bat. He's flat-out dominating down there, and showing the offensive potential people like me have been dreaming about since he was at Idaho Falls in 2011.

The team is playing well right now. Best to leave it as is until they dip a bit, IMO.
