Meh, nothing special, and I was still hungry after mine and half of hers. I doubt we ever try them again. $18 after the $2 off coupon, for two burgers, shared onion rings and two sodas?

If they had an In-n-Out near here, they would own me. 5 guys is too pricy for a burger, and is pretty much just how I make them at home.

heh and you think that will be better with in n out and their ridiculously tiny burgers?

Oh yeah, I have eaten there many, many times. Every time I go out to California, Vegas or Arizona it is my top priority. :D

Double Doubles, animal style, with the fresh fries and roughly about 2/3 the price.

So you compare it to, say Mc Donalds, Burger King and Wendy's?

I don't think it is even close, the taste is similar to a burger from the 50s, prior to the big places mass producing them in some factory, then freezing the stuff and shipping it all over the country.

Everything is fresh, the condiments, buns, meat, including the fries. Wendy's is the closest IMO, but their onions especially, and most of their other condiments are rank.

If California fell off into the ocean, In-N-Out would be the most devastating loss to me. :D

We went on vacation last week, part of which was through Arizona and Nevada. I was really wanting to try In-n-Out Burger thinking they would be a good choice because of their "animal style" burgers but found pretty much everything on their menu has gluten so skipped it. :( Burger King is still the go to place on road trips.

In N Out is good. Not worth all the hype it gets though.

im fine with it when my wife wants to eat there, but its definitely not something i go out of my way for.

MahiMike 04-09-2013 01:24 PM

Five Guys is overpriced for greasy fries. About only burgers I eat anymore are the ones I cook on my Big Green Egg.

Fuddruckers didn't make it around here, they closed and I have never tried one.

To be totally honest, maybe part of the allure is the fact that they are so regional and I can't get one unless I travel out west.

I do love them though, and I can't say that about BK, Wendys, McDonalds, Smashburger or 5 guys.

One more thing that is positive about In-N-Out, they are active in the NHRA.
