Trying to win a Cup without Star Power is as big a fail as not having a Franchise QB.
I get tired of the but, but, but Backes, Berglund, Oshie!!!! out of the Blues Tru Fans. Another sad, pathetic playoff failure as the higher seed once again. |
I don't think the Blues should blow it up quite yet. They've just been unlucky enough to draw arguably their least favorable matchup two years in a row. The Kings are a more talented version of the Blues IMO who can beat them at their own game. The Blues actually played the Kings a lot tougher than they did last year despite the talent disparity and anemic offense, so there's that.
I do think the Blues need a legit goal scorer though, they have a lot of depth so they can afford to cash in some of their assets for one. |

My bad, you're right. Not sure why I somehow confused the Ducks and the Sharks, LOL.

I would love a freeway series. I think it would be great for hockey in So.Cal. But if it's the Sharks, we have home ice so there's that too. Win-win?
|
There isn't near the talent disparity that you mention. Hell, the Blues outplayed for the most part nearly every game and grossly outshot L.A. They just lack that true stud goal scorer. Quick was great, but sooooo many easy opportunities were missed.

Time for the penguins to end this series tonight
|
One of the few teams in the NHL that the Blues can out offense is in Nashville.

Strait put in one of the Pens' goals and the other was from another defenseman's tip.

Malkin saves the game with a nice drive an kick to Martin.
|
Brooks Orpik for the win. How about that.
|
Pens!!!!!

First playoff win in three years.
Thank Christ. The Islanders aren't a doormat anymore. They controlled the play in four of the six games. The Penguins are extremely fortunate to be moving on. |
Extremely fortunate at its politest
