Only 10 months!

Well, Boardwalk Empire should be coming in September and hopefully the 2nd season of True Detective in January, and then Game of Thrones in March.

I can't believe I actually made it through 2 seasons of true blood.

That is where I quit. So much potential then became a pile of shit in light speed.

So we just watched the first episode again. I did not realize Lysa was married to the hand of the king and fled to the Eryie and then sent the letter to the Starks. Crazy.

Going to spoiler this but it has been in episodes just in case you don't want to know. If you haven't watch all the episode I would suggest not reading this cause it is a huge spoiler. Just putting it in case you missed it.

Spoiler!

I get the urge to do it after every season ends. After S1, I even read the 1st book. But that urge eventually passes. I always figure that with the TV series being so good, why risk ruining that experience at all? And it's also not like reading all the books will get you any closer to a conclusion as there are still books left to come.

I'm the opposite, I've read the books and can't bring myself to watch the series and ruin what's in my head.

That would be one way to go. I probably should have done that with Harry Potter, for example. The LOTR movies were all great, though, and I would have hated to miss out on those.

Been watching the first season again myself. There's a lot of things I've caught that I didn't notice in my previous viewings and even more that take on more resonance now. Littlefinger's scenes are particularly interesting now that you know he instigated the entire conflict. I had also forgotten that the guy who met with Varys in the dungeons was the same guy (Illyrio) who sheltered the Targaryens. That may be where he and Tyrion head in S5.

Yeah, you are probably correct on what his intentions were. Either way he is single handedly the root cause of it all.

It's pretty funny how I watched all 4 seasons and still struggle to remember some of these people's names.

Littlefinger? Varys? Illyrio?

Who the **** are these people?

Hawk 06-22-2014 08:26 PM

Littlefinger is the one who betrays Ned in season 1, owns all the whorehouses, used to be in love with Catelyn Stark, helps Sansa escape Kings Landing, then marries Lysa arryn and pushes her through the moon door.

Illyrio is the fat guy whose house Dany and Viserys were staying in during season 1 before they married Dany off to Khal Drogo. He was also seen by Arya talking to Varys in season 1.

Varys is the spy master. Bald eunuch, he's the one who took revenge on the guy who cut off his nuts by keeping him in that box (he shows Tyrion). He tells Tyrion some people will remember what he did for the city. He helps tyrion escape and then goes with him when he hears the bells ringing.

ThaVirus 06-22-2014 08:46 PM

I thought Littlefinger was named Peter Baylish or some shit. I should probably pay more attention..
