the fact that anyone doesn't think LeBron HASN'T surpassed Kobe is downright laughable.
Kobe has never even sniffed the level of play LeBron has showcased for the last two years. As a Michael diehard I'm not even sure Michael Jordan was ever THIS good. (Obviously he was the king of clutch but in terms of pure dominance?) LeBron is going to rattle off 5 straight easy. |

Unreal the Cavaliers just blow a 21 point half time lead vs Heat.

All LeBron has to do is start trying and he can essentially win these games at will (at least against inferior opponents). Until they run into somebody like SAS on the road, this streak is going to last as long as they want it to.

The stream I'm watching on Firstrowsports is the Heat's announcers, and they're pretty obnoxious. Great game, though..

Kobe's always been a volume scorer. Even if LeBron scores a couple fewer PPG, he's doing it on far fewer shots. He's the most efficient scorer in the game and that's a hell of a lot more valuable than a guy who has never made half his shots.

The Heat are great... but I feel like this streak has shown how average the rest of the league is. Especially the Eastern Conference. We talk about how there's been a resurgence of talent... and there has been, but it seems the result is more teams that are "good," but not really good.
I think the Thunder were close, but now they don't have that third wheel in Harden. Every great team has had some kind of challenge, even within their own conference. The Lakers most recent dynasty with Shaq/Kobe had to overcome a really good Kings team. The Bulls had the Pistons/Knicks/Pacers in their conference. And even the year they won 72 there was also the Magic with Shaq in his prime. The Celtics had the Sixers and Pistons. There literally might not be anyone out there to even challenge this team. The Thunder or Spurs is probably the best shot. But the Spurs have to get there... they're the only team that might not be scared to play these guys. |
Ibaka can't stay on the floor in close games. He has so much talent, but the mental part isn't sticking. Probably should have traded him instead of Harden since Collison has to play in clutch time anyway.
Oh well. What's done is done. |
