Martinez continues to tear it up down in Memphis. 0 earned runs, 3 hits, 102 pitches in 7 2/3rds. Little Pedro needs to get the call up, not trade for another SP.

I know they are rumors but if true, why are we considering giving up cost controlled top shelf talent for a starter?

What am I missing here?

With Martinez, perhaps b/c they don't think his size is projectable over the long term.

With Wacha, perhaps they worry about his inability to control the curve and feel he is overrated as a prospect.

FWIW, we have to keep Martinez down for a few more weeks to avoid Super Two status, since he was up for a few weeks as well.
