Does anyone have a Friends of Star Wars: The Old Republic Trial invite? Would like to try it before I buy it. Any help will be appreciated.

I FINALLY got elara dorne out of the first companion kit I purchased tonight after work.

I don't remember ever being this happy over something this meaningless. LMAO

I got Mako and Vector. I have no idea who these ****ing people are.

keg in kc 04-24-2012 02:46 AM

Mako is BH and Vector is Agent.

Yeah, I should have just sold those DNA samples instead. I'm keeping my green crystal though. I bet it's going to be going for good coin in a couple of months (unless BW just adds it to some vendor's list).

I would anticipate a return of that particular color combo. Maybe not within the next few months, but for sure it will be back. The devs made some comment about the color crystals, paraphrasing it went like "No, we did not run out of colors, but we are trying keep as true to the Star Wars universe as possible, and therefor we have a limited number of colors to work with."

The green and the black was already used for in game reward if bought the SWTOR razor nostromo or other device i think.

kaplin42 04-24-2012 02:15 PM

Oh, also.

Wookiee Crisps folded.

Not enough content to keep my guild together. Over the last 4 or 5 weeks, most memebers were only logging into raid, if that. And since D3 and Tera are coming, my guess is that wouldn't even be happening anymore. So, I merged with another guild called Alderaan Shot First.

keg in kc 04-24-2012 02:40 PM

Sorry to hear that, man.

The 'lack of content' thing still blows my mind. No launch MMO that I've played to date has had anything close to the amount of content that TOR does. I guess for me the difference is that the game from 0-50 is content every bit as much as the endgame stuff is. And it's apparently impossible to deprogram the mainstream MMO audience into thinking that way. Everything is about burning to 50 and then grinding until your eyes bleed. Nobody seems to take the time to enjoy the journey.

Hopefully it won't go like basically any MMO launch since about three years after WoW launched, and instant gratification doesn't kill the game before it's had a real chance to grow. In some ways it surprises me that WoW managed to survive. I'm not sure it would now, if it was a new game launching in today's MMO environment (although that's a mind-bending question, because today's MMO environment is largely due to WoW, so without it, maybe it would survive).

I'm tired of these constant disconnects. Error 9000 can go eat a dick!

Yeah, it was available before but only as a level 4 crystal, IIRC. Either way, if it doesn't sell sometime in the future, I'll just keep it. :)

Agreed.

In fact, there's so much endgame content right now, I can't even ****ing keep up and I log on every day.

Of course we have raids all the time still as we're trying to gear up people outside of our core of 10 or so dudes. We haven't even tried Denova on HM yet. But yeah, that coupled with the Black Hole weeklies (which include the awesome Lost Island HM FP) and the Rakghoul weeklies and trying to farm mats and money for augmented gear and augments... yeah... I don't know how that's not enough content. I haven't even mentioned PvP yet (which isn't that great right now with the great gear difference, but will be awesome once ranked WZs come out).

While I definitely understand what you're saying, I have never really been an alt kind of guy. And to be honest there isn't all this awesome content in 1-50, well, repeatable awesome content in 1-50. The class stories sure, that is hands down amazing. But the planets themselves, no thanks. The people that designed Balmorra, Tattoine and Hoth should be taken out deep sea fishing rubbed down with raw meat and used as shark bait. All that being said, I have a 50 inquis, a 50 warrior, and I will more than likely be rolling an agent in the next few weeks. Only cause there is nothing else to do.

Post max level content is what matters to a lot of players, not all, but a lot. For these players, the game doesn't even start till max level. Your spec, rotations, and stat builds don't really start to take form until then. Some enjoy the whole rat race of gearing, and progression raiding, others like dungeon crawling. I like all of that, but I’m so sick of the ops and the flashpoints that doing the quest to get the Achievement Ice mount which is to do all of the HM flashpoints is something I can't even be bothered with right now, mainly cause if I have to set foot in Black Talon one more time, I might dry heave all over my keyboard.

TBH, I have played many MMO’s, and I have never seen a game open up with so little to do at 50. I think the main reason is, they made it so that anyone can get anything really, really, really, easily. For all intents and purposes, Columi is pretty much the best gear in the game up until 1.2. Some would argue Rakata, but the fact that if you just straight swap Rakata for Columi you gain a ridiculous amount of accuracy at the expense of other stats that are much more important to you class. And to top it off, Accuracy is a waste of a stat, you don’t need anything more than 98% to hit anything in the game. And, Columi can be gotten by doing HM dungeons, 1 drop per flashpoint, or saving Columi tokens, which can be used to purchase Columi gear, or Story Mode Ops. Since it is so easy to get this gear, and once you have Columi, trust me, Rakata is not that far away, the game is over, there is nothing else to do. Raids don’t drop unique gear that keeps people going back, they just offer the same gear you can get in flashpoints. This is what has the end gamers so upset, there is no rat race essentialy, or rather, instead of the Indy 500, it’s more like a 40 yard dash to the finish line.

See, I completely disagree.

Dailys, standard or the new BH just get tired after awhile.
The world event was cool for sure, no complaints here.
KP and EV are so boring, that if I don't intentionaly keep myself focused that I end up making mistakes becasue of the boredom.
The new Op and flashpoint are cool, but let's talk in 2 weeks, when they are beaten to a pulp and we're sick of those too.

I know I'm bitching, which is odd, cause I think the game has great potential, but not for another 6 months to a year at least.

Right. There's actually a lot of end game content (way, way, way more than the other 2 MMOs I've played), the problem is that it's just too easy, I guess?

And yeah, as far as Rakata vs Columi, you do have to swap 3 enhancements out, but the mods and the armoring are much better on Rakata.

And I agree with you, I think Keg is in a rather small minority of MMOs players. MMOs have always been about the end game, that's what defines the genre. The story was nice from 1-50, but nothing to write home about, IMO.
