Nice to see the guys not quit at the end. I would like to see McLemore get better as the season goes along and become our Carmelo.

Niang

shoots outside too well for withey to guard
too strong inside for Young to guard

answer: have young guard him outside with Withey standing in the paint

Yes, if you put Withey in the paint, the guy he is supposed to guard, is a good shooter. Thats their gameplan, to get Withey away from the basket by basically playing small ball with 5 "guards".

we didn't make the pay for playing small on defense.

No we didn't. They doubled Withey and didn't guard Kevin at the top of the key at all.

Ellis really needs to evolve into that role where he can hit a 15 footer from the top of the key. Or Kevin, either one.

Hopefully Ellis or Traylor can guard Niang outside/inside

we are going to run into more teams like this, we need to have a better plan.

Yeah, not alot of teams play like that. Most teams don't just go 5 out and screen on and off the ball like that.

Traylor would be big cause he could still block some shots, but we absolutely have to rebound better with that group.

Ben McLemore. Just wow.

They play euro ball. It's frustrating as hell.

McLemore is already great, but if the dude worked on his handle a little more and attacked the basket, he might end up being the 1st overall pick.

And it's awesome that at the end of each game, if KU is playing for the last shot, they run the exact same play. Same play from the Memphis game, MU game last year, tonight, etc.

It just has so many options.

A friend of mine at the game told me he read Self's lips and thought he said during the final timeout of regulation, "get Ben the ****ing ball!"

teedubya 01-09-2013 09:24 PM

Ben McLemore is a basketball God.

Bambi 01-09-2013 09:29 PM

Fun game.
