I can't think of a worse way of starting this offseason and this "new era" of Chiefs football than bringing in Alex Smith. Same shit, different decade.
|
Pretty sure they don't have us drafting a qb early cause we never do or have. We always go the free agent route so we likely will again
|
So Geno is worth taking at #2 but not at #1? Lololololol.
Hooray for Alex Smith the game manager! |
man ill be glad when march brings clarity...

Regarding Geno's twitter account, I know @GenoSmith_12 is verified, but it's OBVIOUS his real account is/was https://twitter.com/onetwo_GS
You can tell by the pictures. His verified account might still not actually be him. |

Thought I'd throw this out there to prove all the "Geno doesn't fit in Reid's system", "can't read a defense" idiots up.
Andy Reid drafted and groomed Nick Foles last season. An Air Raid QB, much like Geno. Not only was he not scared he couldn't work with a QB from a "hokey" offense, he was pretty successful in helping Foles transition not only to an under center pro style offense, but also to the pro level competition in less than a full season. As for Dorsey. He picked up Graham Harrell as an UDFA, and trusted the Packers coaching staff to mold him into a competent backup to Rodgers. His rookie preseason was pretty impressive if I recall correctly. Harrell's OC in college? None other than Dana Holgorsen, Geno Smith's head coach at WVU. Harrell ran the same offense in college under the same tutelage as Geno Smith. Harrell made the transition remarkably well for a guy with his physical limitations, and did it without "reading defenses" in college. Dorsey probably has a good idea of what a Dana Holgorsen product is. Both our GM and our head coach have shown absolutely no fear in drafting and developing quarterbacks with the same background as Geno for the pro game. I LIKE GENO'S CHANCES OF BECOMING A CHIEF... Not only all of this, but the Eagles pined for Albert in the draft, and multiple members of the offensive coaching staff have spoken fondly of Albert to the local media. A LT will not be the pick. The ONLY position that makes any sense at this point in time, other than QB of course, would be DL. This is an "up in the air" wildcard. The defensive scheme along the line is changing, so what Dorsey and Jackson will be asked to do is going to be different. Neither necessarily succeeded in the 2 gap, but we'll see if this coaching staff believes they can produce on the new front where they'll now be asked to 1 gap. If they don't believe that one or the other, or either can hack it, DL Could unfortunately be the pick. |

My point was that I can guarantee his other one is real. But his newer one has some gray areas. |

Don't you have to show personal ID to get verified?

I'm not saying that's the case with Geno's new account. But rather that his old one is proof of a real account, and the newer one has some gray areas. |
I guess I just need to see more than 1 picture of him from the 2011 Orange bowl to believe in his new account.

Assuming "Coach Adam Behrends" knows that this IS Geno's account:

Think you might be right Kcrock. Onetwo_gs seems like it's his personal account, and his verified account seems to be more of a business account. Wonder what if he doesn't have someone else managing it.

If you are gonna make that point, why make it in the GENO Smith thread? Answer: to antagonize.
So you do that, the pro geno guys flame away, everyone bitches that Geno is getting special treatment, and we start all over again. If you want to make that statement, fine. Go make it in the Alex Smith thread. |

Okay, I just listened to the Clark interview on 810.
Gotta say, I was please with Clark's tone when he said "Tell (Geno) our guys missed seeing him in Mobile!" There was an upbeat tone to his voice. It's probably extracting a lot from a little, but it just gave me the feeling that this coaching staff is 100% dedicated to scouting the QB position, even with Clark saying the whole thing about not seeing that lock-down franchise guy in this draft. |
Petro is interviewing Geno Smith right now.
Petro asked him about Clark's Mobile comment. Geno's comment: "They'll have plenty of time to see me. It's all strategic. First instinct is to go compete. But it's a business decision." Petro then asked when you're being told you're the best QB in the draft it really doesn't make much sense to go does it? "The risk of injury is the thing. I'm better off continuing to work out at IMG and getting better at what I do." He said being the #1 overall pick is a BIG deal to him. He wants it. He knows the Chiefs need a QB and he wants to be part of turning a team around. Petro asked him about Texas Tech and K-State. He mentioned it was a "terrible windy day" and Geno immediately said "not an excuse". He said at times he let his emotions too much. He wants to win every game and be the best at what he does. He said he needs to work on his leadership, he didn't always express stuff in the right way. Said he's not aware of how popular he is in KC. Knew instantly that Jeff Hostetler was a WVU QB that has one the Super Bowl. Petro thought that was really interesting. |
im staying positive. Some douche on that geno chat thinks hes going to AZ. Bullshit.

this draft is going to be so much fun; ...well, at least up til the 1st pick.....then I'll be stressing out.

Petro and Doug Stewart BOTH said they were VERY impressed. If he was prepped, he didn't show it. Very natural, very thoughtful, well-spoken. Answered all the questions perfectly. The only thing they said is that he looks "small" as in skinny. |
I posted that too soon.
Petro talked quite a bit more. Said Geno was a "very impressive" kid. Petro sounded like he was changing his tune. It was weird. The only downside again was his size. Petro clarified that by saying he just looks slight and he wonders if Geno can take the beating of the NFL. Compared him to RG3, which we all know isn't very valid. |
Changing his tune towards not taking him?
All this sounds like posturing, trying to keep listeners engaged until draft time. |

Quote:
He really sounded genuinely impressed. |
Just asking, you said he changed his tune later. Changed from impressed to not impressed?
|
Quote:
He walked away from the interview impressed. He seemed to change his tune from yesterday and before, which was very cautious and lukewarm on Geno. |
