hopefully chunt is watching this game with his texas bandwagon fans and gets a chubby thinking about how much money he'd make drafting geno

he's already the #1 pick in the draft

CoMoChief 10-06-2012 08:20 PM

I think I'm on the Geno train....prob the first game I've watched of him.

The guy's VERY accurate...which is a must in the NFL. His arm strength (or somewhat lack thereof) can get stronger.

Plus the guy can make plays with his legs.

If we're going to cut Cassel after the season (it'd be ****ing stupid not to), then we HAVE to draft this guy......we should draft him anyways.....I'm just saying...

**** Cassel. LOL

RealSNR 10-06-2012 08:21 PM

Stat from Gus:

257 straight snaps going back to last year against South Florida

No INTs

Just the 2 fumbles tonight.

If Scott Pioli wants a ball control game manager, Geno Smith can take care of the ****ing ball.

Bray and Wilson might have something to say about that, but their less-polished mechanics are gagging them.

Geno has the best mechanics, release and accuracy. Strength wise it's close

At this point, we need the #1 or #2 pick to get him. If we can't do that, I think we're gonna have to count on some good old-boy racism to keep Geno's value ignorantly down.

Huggins is a good coach I just really liked how Beilein's teams played. Everybody could shoot (Pittsnogle FTMFW!) and I loved the 1-3-1 defense. They were unique.

Lots of guys put up video game numbers. Although Smith was certainly making NFL throws while doing that, I was waiting for Smith to play a good defense that could try to get in his head, hit him a little, and see how he reacted. He played really really good. I'm in on the roll call. Please :)

The stupid rule that if an onside kick bounces up in the air once, the receiving team can call for a fair catch and just cover the ball.

In college, they made the onside kick a lot more difficult. Now, if the kicker gets that really high bounce, the defense can call fair catch, even if its not a proper kickoff and its one of the front guys.

Screw Smith. He now has more incompletions than TDs.

If we end up doing what we should this year, and put ourselves in a position to draft Geno, we have the ability to get really really fast on offense.

Stay with me here. Take Smith in the first. Set at qb. Take Tavon Austin or D'anthony Thomas in the second or third to pair with Charles and Gray/Draughn or Austin at WR. Resign Bowe.

You could have Bowe, Baldwin, Charles, Breaston, Dexter, Draughn, Gray, Boss, Moeaki, D. Thomas or Austin as your weapons for your new shiny QB.

I would consider Stedman Bailey as well if Austin is gone, he and Geno have played together since High School and have a nice rapport. He isn't as explosive as Austin, but he's a nice WR.

Thomas is a true sophomore, so he's not eligible for the draft next year. But I would love to have Austin with Geno.

I want to throw this out there: Madden 2012 had Geno Smith buried in it's game.
In the 2014 online franchise draft:
QB - 6'2"/221lbs from West Virginia
Potential A
SPD 75
ACC 85
THP 95
SAC 83
MAC 70
DAC 88
RUN 95
PAC 88

We can't **** this up. I've never cheered for losses, but hell with it.

Looking at the schedule. We will be 1-5 at the bye with a big game against the Raiders after the bye. We ain't beatin the Chargers or Steelers on the road. The Bengals at home, we could sneak up on I guess. Then the Broncos times 2, Colts will be another big game to lose and the Browns the biggest game.

RJ 10-06-2012 09:53 PM

I'm down with Smith. He'd look good in a Chiefs uni.

I like that Austin kid as well. He'll play in the NFL.

We are likely gonna have to get to the #1 overall pick to get Smith. What record gets us there? Who are we competing with?

I would say the Browns, but I think they win some games. Raiders maybe?

Yea those two probably. I don't see the browns drafting another QB though. People seem to have more faith and trust in Weeden than previous browns QB. But the raiders are the real threat IMO, they are HORRIBLE. Hopefully their false hope in Palmer continues into 2013.

O.city 10-06-2012 10:22 PM

Palmer hasn't been bad this year. The Raiders are in full rebuild mode though so they are a threat.

It very well could. It could be the opposite of 2008 where even with a 2-14 record we still only got the #3 overall pick because of Detroits winless season, and the rams (I think)

Bewbies 10-06-2012 10:29 PM

Pioli fired, Cassel cut, first overall pick used on Geno Smith. 2012 could be the best year the Chiefs have had since Super Bowl 4!

bowener 10-06-2012 10:30 PM

Once we snag Smith 1st overall, where in the draft can we snag Tavon Austin? Might as well give Geno his favorite target, and cut DMC all at once. Two birds, one stone, etc...

O.city 10-06-2012 10:31 PM

I think 2 wins for sure gets you Geno. 3 or 4 might give you a chance.

Weeden being older than Aaron Rodgers, the Browns changing owners, and most likely getting a new front office and coach next year doesn't bode well for them not taking a QB if they pick 1st...

Arizona Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons -Matt Ryan
Baltimore Ravens - Joe Flacco
Buffalo Bills -Fitz
Carolina Panthers -Cam
Chicago Bears -Cutler
Cincinnati Bengals -Dalton
Cleveland Browns -Weeden?
Dallas Cowboys -Romo
Denver Broncos -Manning
Detroit Lions -Stafford
Green Bay Packers -Rodgers
Houston Texans -Schaub
Indianapolis Colts -Luck
Jacksonville Jaguars - Gabbert?
Kansas City Chiefs
Miami Dolphins -Tannehill
Minnesota Vikings --Ponder
New England Patriots -Brady
New Orleans Saints -Brees
New York Giants -Manning
New York Jets -Sanchez,Tebow?
Oakland Raiders -Palmer?
Philadelphia Eagles-Vick?
Pittsburgh Steelers - Big Ben
Saint Louis Rams - Stafford
San Diego Chargers -Rivers
San Francisco 49ers -Smith
Seattle Seahawks -Flynn, short qb whose name escapes me
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -Freeman?
Tennessee Titans - Locker
Washington Redskins -RGIII

Put question marks by guys who teams could move from. Looks like there are actually not many teams who aren't set at QB. This is the year we need to make our move.

None of the teams listed in your probably need a QB section will draft one in the first round.

Oakland will probably be our only competition out of the teams listed who could be looking for a QB in the first round. The good thing is that with all the players let go by Oakland and being under new management they will need all the draft picks they can get and will be less likely to trade up for one.

If things continue as they have we may finally have cornered this franchise into making a first round QB pick. I just hope if that QB doesn't work out that it doesn't shy us away from going after one again for another 29 years

TribalElder 10-06-2012 10:57 PM

Arizona is 11-3 in its last 14 games.

Seattle signed Matt Flynn to a 3 year, $27 million dollar deal.

Philly is in FIRST PLACE and has Foles behind Vick.

Cleveland is the only real competition and even they just moved up and drafted Weeden.
