A one seed is a good start, but it isn't much of an accomplishment in its own right. I'm not ready to declare Gonzaga as anything special because they look to have a one seed locked up. Both Indiana and Gonzaga are having very good seasons thus far. Conference championships are something to be proud of. Neither will mean a thing if they don't at least grab a FF berth.

And Indiana may very well be "back". Only time will tell. They've been on an upward trend the last couple of seasons. Just not ready to declare a program has risen from the dead over one regular season.

I didn't put any qualifiers on Indiana's win. It was impressive, like many of their other road wins this year. But Michigan choked that game away completely in the final 40 seconds.

Craziness at the end of the Charlotte v Richmond game

Someone explain the ending of that game.

I can't find highlights anywhere.

Richmond's up by 3 points with 6 seconds left so they foul to prevent a 3-point shot.

Charlotte makes the front-end of the 1and1 meanwhile a Richmond player shoves a Charlotte player while going for the rebound which is ruled a technical foul, so Charlotte gets TWO MORE free-throws on top of the one they had remaining.

They make all those to go up by one as well as getting the ball out-of-bounds because of the Technical.

Charlotte in-bounds the ball and Richmond fouls, but the Charlotte players instantly threw up the ball b/c there were only 3 secs left and the refs ruled it in the act of shooting which made the Richmond coach blow up receiving two more technicals.

Charlotte wins by 5. Charlotte had 11 free-throws in the last 6 seconds lol.

Saw it earlier, but it went something like this:
Charlotte down three with 4.7 left, Richmond foul, on teh FT attempt, another pushing foul + technical foul called on Richmond, now Charlotte up one and teh ball with 2.8, Charlotte player chucks it up from half court and a shooting foul is called for 3 shots, Richmond coach gets T'd up twice. Charlotte shot 11 FTs in 5 seconds.

I see someone within the university of Charlotte paid off the refs.

Why is the tournament starting later this year????

The past few years we've been able to watch the NCAA tourney during St. Patrick's day weekend.

Last year we were treated to Lehigh upsetting Duke, Norfolk State upsetting Mizzou, Ohio upsetting Michigan, and two each of the usual #11 and #12 seed upsets.

I realized that last week. I'm generally wearing green during one of the opening days of the tourney.

All three Memphis-Southern Miss games were like this, just with the big Memphis run coming earlier and making it seem less frantic, physical, and flat-out absurd than they actually were for people who didn't watch. I saw someone say we "beat the crap out of" USM the first two times, which couldn't be farther from the truth. They were three of my favorite games all season.

I kept muttering "I love that team" a lot today, and I wasn't just talking about Memphis. USM's gonna get hosed because their resume is mediocre, but they're talented and extremely tough, so hopefully the committee rewards them on that despite the stigma and the rest of C-USA being hot garbage this year.
