Every once in a while, Colts owner Jim Irsay launches the Twitter equivalent of an Easter egg hunt. Currently, Colts fans are making guesses like crazy, and wondering if they’re getting warm. On Saturday night, Irsay said that his team, which has been very active so far in free agency, is “working on a deal, one we’ve been working on for five days,” and that “we’re very, very close to making it work.” Later, Irsay narrowed the range of potential guesses to one position: “Wide receiver!!“ But there aren’t many free-agent receivers with names justifying the use of two exclamation points. Darrius Heyward-Bey was cut on Tuesday, and Randy Moss still has some caché, baby. That leaves restricted free agents, where Giants receiver Victor Cruz and Steelers receiver Emmanuel Sanders are the top targets. But with Irsay saying that the Colts have been working on the deal for five days and given that Cruz’s agent change delayed prevent CAA from talking contract during the five-day waiting period, it’s probably not Cruz. Unless, of course, the Colts were spending the first part of the past five days coming up with an offer-sheet strategy with a 2013 cap number that would prevent the Giants from matching. Either way, we’ll be keeping an eye on Irsay’s page for further updates. |

Emmanuel Sanders
Would be hilarious if it was that slapdick ROFL |
Whats the word on Osi? Any rumors in our favor?
|
The biggest buzzing around Umenyiora is that the Giants want to bring him back, and that the Falcons are alledgedly interested. That's all I've seen.
Osi himself has said he'll play pretty much anywhere. Osi has said, however, that he wants a starting gig. He would likely not get one in Kansas City. |
Also, Osi tweeted this when a Chiefs fan asked him if he wanted to be a Chief:
Osi Umenyiora @OsiUmenyiora @TypeOjunkie @tambahali91 they got Tamba and Houston. They don't need anymore edge rushers! |
Also, Tamba is really, really high on Alex Smith.

Osi is coming to kc watch! They need a bigger dline pass rusher
|
I would put the odds that Osi is a Chief at .00001%
|
Ill take those odds tamba wants him here

Flowers' buddy system worked pretty well with Carr.

The only way a player would have an input into another player is if they played together in the past. I just don't see how he's a fit. |

And it wasn't about the buddy system with Carr he wanted paid and pioli wasn't paying 50 mil to 2 CBs

According to Spotrac, chiefs have about 4 mill in cap space left.

You can sign Albert long term which will free up cap space. |
Just give Albert a long term deal and get him off that 9.8m number

Ya if Albert is done they'll be in good shape. Probably waiting on Jake Long

Doug Baldwin - WR - Seahawks
Owner Jim Irsay recently tweeted that the Colts are pursuing a wide receiver, and the Indianapolis Star speculates it may be Doug Baldwin. The Indy Star is just connecting dots, but they do connect. Baldwin was pushed down Seattle's depth chart following Percy Harvin's acquisition, and Baldwin played with Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and under new OC Pep Hamilton at Stanford. We suspect Seattle could net a fifth- or sixth-round pick for Baldwin. |
Lol all the hype and it's Doug Baldwin lol

Clark did say he will be more involved and vocal. |

CH: hey ya'll don't worry we got this #genotime

Idk if he knows what a twiiter is though. He didnt know that after 4 years Pioli was ****ing this franchise side to side and tearing this franchise apart. |
Danario Alexander should be in KC.

Al Davis must of been high
Per Schefter Memory of last owners meetings in AZ in 2007: Late, great Al Davis standing in lobby, saying how JaMarcus Russell reminded him of John Elway 7:29pm - 17 Mar 13 |

Buzz I am hearing among GMs is that Jake Long will end up back in Miami. Rams still in the hunt but this isn't wreaking of a bidding war |
Quote:
They overpaid for what is at best a average WR. They signed a MLB 7 mil a year who only played 7 games. If Long comes back they will overpay a LT who is more injury prone than Albert. Meanwhile at least Schefter sees the Chiefs as having the best offseason. |
Updated.
Will Svitek is still in the league. Who knew. |
Geoff Schwartz deal was 1 year

Remember Dexter Heyman who was a undrafted FA last year. I truly think he can fill the ILB spot. He is great in coverage and can stop the run just not as physical in the run. He would come for the league minimum. |

I imagine that once Long signs, we'll have a better idea of what the market will be for Albert...and hopefully we can make our move then.
Getting Albert long-term + restructuring Berry + cutting Studebaker would give us plenty of room. Other than Tyson Jackson (which really wasn't a restructure as much as a cut), we really haven't had to do any of the creative financing that most teams do on a regular basis. |
Sign an ILB and call it a day. They'll go pass rusher in the 1st. Hopefully after trading down.

Might want to save some room for those cut after the draft. Of course there could be a few cut here as well.

I'd rather have Jordan. Big physical freak at 6'6"
|
I think Ziggy is a better fit watching him line up at OLB, DE and even the middle in a 3 line set. He can provide the interior pass rush the team needs along with the versatility to line up outside if needed.
|
Quote:
Ansah is a DE/OLB. Same with Jordan. Thing is who is a better pass rusher. Ansah and he has more potential. Since were gonna be playing a 3-4/4-3 hybrid. Our d line would be LDE-Ansah, DT-Devito, DT-Poe, RDE- Jackson. |
If we aren't allowed to take Geno and can't trade down, I'm thinking Richardson, Ziggy, Jordan, or Mingo.

Apparently Reid loves Ansah according to NFLDraftBible on twitter. |

IMO, Ansah is an OLB, not a 3-4 DE that can play the 3/4/5 tech.
|
Thats why I want Jordan i think he could bulk up and possibly play end
|
Would rather get a DE that can generate a pass rush than an OLB that will do the same.
