Would you pay full price for ground chuck the day before its expiration date?

He did. It was contingent upon Hunt doing all the things he needed to do and Veach said something like, if he did them, one never knows what could happen on the future. Then very shortly afterwards, Dorsey signed Hunt.

Iconic 08-07-2022 12:43 PM

that 2nd contract he signed with cleveland was genuinely one of the dumbest decisions he could have made (besides kicking a bitch in the head). dude played himself out of millions of dollars that would have came with being a starter for a different team just to carry chubbs jock strap.

you get what you give kareem.

But this is not a valid reason, Nick Chubb is a top 5 back easily.

Yea, Hunt might not be the same as 2018 but he would be a huge addition to KC's backfield.

But even putting aside having to meet his contract demands, I would be surprised if the Chiefs would go anywhere near that after the 'you lied to us'. Not sure Hunt would exactly want to deal with that media circus either...

Yea, a second rate contract to be a back up on a second rate team.

If he was going to take such a pay cut to be a backup, he could have at gone to a contender.

I agree time to move on but let's not get carried away here.

So you believe that if Mahomes had adequate protection, and didn't have to scramble a cumulative 400+ yards just to get passes away, that he could not have beaten the team he already defeated in the same stadium earlier in the year.

Ok dude.

Ok dude.

I didn't say it was impossible the Chiefs win that game with a healthy oline, but to act like it is a guarantee is a bit of a stretch.

Lets not act like Mahomes wasn't horrible in the 2nd half against the Bengals. He's had some games where he has struggled. It's not crazy to think the Bucs D may have been able to slow him down enough so they could win. Chiefs D was awful that game.

Yeah, I don't get it unless his agent knows that he's persona non grata with most teams. As a full-time starter he would be a top-ten running back in the league, though, so you'd have to think that some teams would have interest.

Nudging that bar whore with his foot was a huge mistake.

I haven't watched many Browns games, only when they played us really.

Is he still that beast that was hurdling over mofo's and doing big things like he was for the year and a half he was a Chief?

It's hard to see Clark Hunt allowing that though after they cut him, it seemed like Clark was a little pissed off with him.

He's still incredible and one of the best receiving backs in the league.

Was thinking the same thing. It's not going to take much in a draft pick to get him - probably a 5th would get it done, but it's the salary that might be the issue with some. Not sure if the team trading for him would have to pay the roster bonus of almost $5 Million. Base Salary is only like $1.2 Million.

Not typically, but his is a little interesting. His roster pays about 1/3 at the start of the OTAs and the remaining 2/3 on a per game bonus.

So it looks to me like an acquiring team would be on the hook for about $800K of base salary and another $2 million in games played incentives. But what I can't tell is if they're paid as 'game checks' concurrently with the game played. It's possible the bonus accumulates as the season goes on and then gets paid at the end of the year.

Hard to tell, really. I'm guessing it's the former and not the latter.

But I can't claim to care - I've seen a couple Browns games and to my eyes he's just not the same player he was. Meanwhile Nick Chubb is just a damn monster out there. Maybe Chubb just looks better than ever and the contrast makes Hunt look worse than he is, but this is clearly no longer a 1a and 1b situation in Cleveland. Chubb is a far better back than Hunt.

Sofa King 10-24-2022 02:34 PM

He's hurt so often that I genuinely can't tell if he sucks or not.

He's a pending UFA so this isn't a Deandre Baker situation where you get him to stash as a depth piece and maybe hope he's a contributor next season. He's probably just not worth the trouble.

I love the wording. "A big trade"? So apparently a big trade involves at most a 6th round draft pick and at best a very very slightly above average RB.

The guy is a little better than MEH, maybe.
