LMAO just traded Jah Reid midseason to the Bears for a 2019 1st rounder. Switched him to LT and the AI allowed it.

You know what's funny? I played the first two games of the season and won. I did replace Alex Smith in the second half with Mahommes at New England and made a comeback to win it. I was 2-0 and then they did a tuning update. I didn't win another game on my franchise in the next 3 games and also in my son's online franchise (2 games). I didn't win until I did some sliders adjustments this morning. I may need to tweak them a bit more but at least I feel now that I have a chance to win. |
I am in no way bragging or trying to start anything but I've been playing on all Madden and am currently undefeated after 6 games with the Chiefs. I haven't changed any sliders or anything. I will agree though that you can not run the ball at all, you get hardly any pressure on the opposing qb and your receivers do drop the ball constantly.

anyone play mut competative? EA has weekly weekend tournies now that require you to make it through a knockout league to gain entry. some good competition.

Yes, buy a PS4 pro if you can swing it. 4K is worth the upgrade. Also, this thread will help many players after a sim experience gain some more enjoyment from Madden this year:

Played a few games last night on Franchise / Sim mode.
I had a horrible game, tossed 4 picks. And every single one of them the other team went on a drive for a TD after the pick. Definitely feels like any time your team has a turnover, the other team automatically will get 6 points. on a few picks, the defender ice skated directly into the path of the throw, even though my WR had a good 5 yd lead. That's the one frustrating thing I've always had with these games. I want a little realistic feel to the game in terms of scoring and stats etc, but in order to get point you have to adjust the 'difficulty' - which is really just how much the CPU defies physics to **** you over. needless to say, I'm adjusting my play style slightly at QB. Out routes, I make damn sure the defender is way off, and my receiver has to be WIDE open. I was undercut at least 3 times last night for a pick on passes that I have normally completed all day long in past years. Zone windows / Zone AI seems to be tightened up. Defenders will drop to their zone, but will re-adjust and pass off receivers to the next zone. No more defenders just roaming aimlessly in a zone unecessarily. Had a few completely horrible plays in pass blocking by my OL - to the point where when I watched the replay after getting smoked at QB, my OL fires off the ball like a run play, the DL basically leaps OVER him, and my OL continues to stumble towards the LBers, then falls flat on his face. Running the ball is still a bit difficult for me. Though, I spent some XP on Ware for Awareness, and he doesn't seem to run directly into blockers as often after getting the ****ing ball, and doesn't appear to get suctioned into the arm of an engaged DL every single time he goes through the hole. That's what has made running the ball so hard for me - I get the ball, and it's like there's a lag between my controller in put and what the RB actually does for a split second. But after I added some awareness, I started having some reasonable rush stats. No idea if the attribute helped, or if I've just been slowly improving a little here and here. Cracked a 100yds a few times. Compared to games up to that point where I would have 22 carries for 25yds etc. So bad that I just abandonned the run altogether and passed the ball (which isn't how I like to play). Still digging the game overall though. |
when you do a fantasy draft to start a franchise, they need to reset the draft picks. I built a team last night as the chiefs and purposely didnt grab a good qb so I could draft one and i didn't have my first round pick lol

I typically have played Franchise as a player, or have a few Franchises going so I'll play as QB, or MLB, etc just to mix things up.
This year, I'm giving it a go playing with full control of the team. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the scouting of players is messed up? Like, I'll have the list of draft prospects and their projected round, and I'll spend a ton of points unlocking all their attributes and at the end of damn near each one, it'll say "undrafted" or "7th Round prospect" on a guy where the list had them as a 1st round or 2nd round pick. WTF. The 'scouting' aspect seems pretty pointless to me. I mean, I get it from a concept POV, but it just seems like more unecessary clicking/button pushing and navigating. then after all the button pushing is over, nearly every guy you've been trying to unlock, ends up being WAY off in terms of where they were originally projected. Is that because of some scouting attribute my team/HC/GM has / doesn't have? |
Dayze, try to read what defense they have out there if its a zone or man, if its a zone do a lot of drag routes, wait for your guy to get open hit them
