Looking forward to seeing how Drax is portrayed. It's been awhile since I really followed the comics, but iirc, he was like a top tier powered guy. Strong as the Hulk, could fire power blasts from his hands, could fly, pretty much invincible...

Also iirc, he was "created" for the sole purpose of destroying Thanos, which leads to the question of is Ronan under the control of Thanos? Isn't he a good guy that teamed up with Silver Surfer, Beta-Ray-Bill, Quasar, and Gladiator? I'm sure I'm missing something significant....

Drax lost quite a bit of his power in the comic before he joined the GotG, compared to what he was created with. He couldn't fly anymore.

Nice shot of the Collector on that UK trailer.

As far as trailers go, though, the first one has been the best by far.

Now just take my damn money so I can see this thing in the theater.

This. I will be out of country, so will not get to see it opening weekend. :(

I'm definitely psyched for this one. Just finishing up Annihilators now, have really enjoyed the Annihilation - Annihilators sequence.

Any reviews on the Marvel Unlimited service? Thinking about signing up.

I liked the service. its a great value considering how much content there is. I cancelled only because I had read everything I wanted to read. my only complaint was that it was hard to search and navigate to the exact titles. the search was way too broad

What's up with the creepy cyber implant scars on Rocket's back at 3:26?

Part of his backstory. I'd guess they'll cover it in the movie since they made such an obvious point of it.

yea, hes kinda odd sometimes. He was over the moon ecstatic for Pacific Rim. I thought it was good, but it wasnt some "Star Wars" type of game changer like he made it out to be.

DaveNull 07-23-2014 12:41 PM

The creator of Drax, Thanos and Gamora thought it was awesome.

Just came from the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy. With all the hype I expected to be a bit disappointed. It just couldn't be as good as everyone was predicting. And they were wrong. It's even better than everyone said. It just might be Marvel's best movie yet.

I wouldn't really consider that a review. The poster almost seems to take offense to the thought that something could be both serious and humorous at the same time. He also finds it unbelievable that Rocket could understand Groot (although Han Solo understanding Chewie is perfectly reasonable apparently). Maybe someone should have informed him that he was seeing a comic book movie. Or maybe he should re-watch Star Wars and remember that humor can be fun.

DaveNull 07-23-2014 06:24 PM

So tired of the comparisons between star wars and this movie. Not all space operas are derived from star wars, people.
