The locker room in Nashville is a mess. No one is happy there. At least in Cal he'll get to play. I watched a Flames game last week and the goalie, Joey MacDonald got run over and nobody on Calgary did anything, the coach tore a strip off the team for that. They definitely need that presence out there.

Do you think Trotz is on his last legs in Nashville? He strikes me as the Marty of NHL coaches, good enough to give you hope but never good enough to get you over the hump.

Add to it the whole Radulov & Kostitsyn debacle in the playoffs.

I suspect this is a bigger story for Avs fans than the NHL as a whole, but the Flames just signed Ryan O'Reilly to an offer sheet for $10m over 2 years.

The Preds do too but the coaching staff/management never seems to realize that. They have not idea how to handle tough player or a player with potent offensive talent. They do know defense, goaltending and two way utility forwards. Best of luck to him in Calgary, they seem to know how to utilize a player like BigErn.

That is a great comarison, he is alot like Marty. Heavy on Defense, not so much on Offense. Though I think he has at least next year, i'd be surprised if he was let go until then. He may not get the entire year next year, if this season goes to hell and next season does not start off well he may get the ax. Not sure if they will keep Poile as well or ax him too.

This Red Wings/Blackhawks game on NBC is fantastic. The Red Wings were up 1-0, took a delay of game penalty by chucking it over the glass... Chicago scored on the PP with 2 minutes to go. Detroit had another delay of game a minute later... and now the game is in OT. The Blackhawks streak stays alive.

And the Blackhawks win in a shootout. 19-0-3. Their regular season point streak is now at 28 games, tied for 2nd highest of all time. That was a great game.
