Last week, I was checking my DVR on Friday and saw it had recorded Supernatural's season premier the night before. I was like WTF?! And glad it had.

I think they just wanted to get things started quick as far as the too informative part. Part of the problem last year was the first 8 episodes taking too long to develop and they lost some of the audience. They aren't making that mistake again.
