I wouldn't have minded Jackson at the price he came at. But I would much rather use that money to extend Berry, Houston, and Smith.

I disagree. Berry is a unique talent and I think given his dedication to the game, he's going to get better. High character guy, still tons of upside, and restructuring an extension allows you to save money upfront.

Berry is a box safety on a defense with a below average run defense.

He is a good player, but the truth is we could probably replace his role on this team with a much cheaper player.

The only way I see him getting a big money extension is for him to PROVE he can be effective in coverage and be a ball hawking playmaker.

I highly doubt they pay him big money to keep being a glorified linebacker.

Jairus Byrd just got a bigger deal then DeSean Jackson. Much, much much bigger.

Eric Berrys totals of interceptions/forced fumbles/recovered fumbles: 12

There is no comparison between these 2 players at this point.
