Definitely a classic. I also like when he fell down flat on his face running home. He did have legit big league moments though. I distinctly remember being at the game when he hit a walk off HR a few games into the season.

He ran facefirst into an outfield wall. It looked...painful.

0-2 hanging slider into left stands to cap off a long winning streak. Followed by firework friday!

Anybody else getting a little tired of Billy Butler? He is the king of hitting into double plays.

Actually, he only hit into 16 last year, and that was his first one this year. Pretty good for a chubbo.

no, not in the slightest. Billy Butler is one of our best hitters, would be worshiped in New York or Boston, and is hobbled only by his lack of defensive ability.

Billy Butler leads the league one year and people freaking lose their minds over it. GDP is a stupid, random, flukey stat that shouldn't exist. No one should pay any attention to it.

That aside, The top 5 in GDP last year, in order, was Pujols, Adrian Gonzalez, Miguel Cabrera, David Ortiz, and Torii Hunter. If that doesn't tell you that GDP is a stupid, worthless stat, I don't know what would.

Oh, and the Royals GDP leader last season was Frenchy.

I never heard what the official line on Hocheavar's injury was. How bad did it turn out to be?

Officially he has a bruised ankle. I can't imagine that doesn't affect a pitcher.

If its not broken, I'm thinking it'll be a deep bone bruise of some kind. I was at the game, and you could hear that thing bounce off bone loud and clear. I thought it was broken until he was able to hobble off.

A deep bone bruise would definitely cause him to miss a start or 3, at least.

He's lucky the thing didn't shatter.

No. I don't get tired of very, very good hitters.
