Yeah but f**k that, if the Super Bowl is the goal we need a first round bye and home field in at least the divisional round

Yeah but the Chiefs can basically clinch a playoff spot in the next 5 days.

If we beat Oakland next week, Denver is basically done bc they would need us to finish 1 game worse due to their division record of 3-3. We beat Oakland and that's the tiebreaker due to our 4th division win.

Miami might lose at Baltimore. If they lose and we win, they would be 2 games and back with 2 more conference losses than us, so we'd have the tiebreaker.
Technically we could lose to Atlanta and still have that 2 game conference tiebreaker over Miami if they lose.

The whole first round bye thing is a myth, although definitely wouldn't hurt. Better to go into the playoffs having to play an extra game and healthy versus having a first round bye and more beaten up.

That's the point of getting the bye. To be healthy and fresher than the other team that you play at home.

If we are serious about being a SB contender, win the division.

As long as the division is within reach, that's gotta be the primary goal. I get the other side of the argument, but a team that has been as beat up as the Chiefs, and has aging key contributors like DJ, could definitely use the bye.

An injury like Maclin's is unique in that you don't want to mess with it until it's completely better, better to wheel him out when he's ready then to force him out there and put him out another 4-6 weeks.

I'm good with them sitting Maclin, I just don't want them conceding anything. They need to go out tomorrow ready to do whatever it takes to win. Personally, I don't think a loss tomorrow ends their division hopes by any means, but a win would go a long way toward helping them.

I agree. I think they'll play hard. Buffalo goes to Oakland and is going to throw everything at them to salvage their season, then oakland gets only 3 days rest before playing us in Arrowhead.

I like our chances.

Nice thing about playing Maclin Thursday is you get a sense for where he's at, then if he gets a little bruised up he has 10 days until his next game.

I expect Buffalo to pull it out tomorrow. They've got a running game that can grind away at Oakland's lousy front 7 and they have receivers to blow the top of their secondary. Great defense too that is leading the NFL in sacks. It's a terrible matchup for OAK.

Winning the next two games for KC probably wins the division unless you drop the last 3 in a row.

Is it time to give up on Jeremy Maclin?

It's $2.4M accounted in dead money, $10M saved against cap if cut post June 1st 2017.

The guy is made of tissue paper.

Anyone available in the next draft thats worthy a #1WR...FA?...can KC make a play at Alshon Jeffery? His production has been down but the Bears are ****ing terrible on offense w/ horrible shit QB/coaching situations. He'd be 27 at the start of next season. Would a change in scenery help?

If Nunez-Roches continues to improve, does Bailey become expendable? Right now Roches surprisingly is showing up a lot...more so than I remember seeing what Bailey does on the field. Bailey is much better against the run, and the Chiefs do need to be better in that dept, but again that's not to say Roches can't improve in that dept and he was in the backfield multipe times vs DEN stopping the run.

Is Jamaal Charles a Chief next season? At the beginning of the season I was for cutting the guy w/ the emergence of Ware. Personally if I were a GM, I would never invest big money or high draft picks on RB's. I think in today's game they're a dime a dozen. Sure there are the elite ones that are no question ready from day-1, 1st rd talents like AP etc. But it's also the position where you can get almost the same value out of someone like AP as you can w/ an UDFA. Lots of parity at that position. We see that w/ West and Ware.

But now our running game sucks balls so much right now, I mean does anyone thing Charles is going to be back for the playoffs if full form assuming the Chiefs make it to the playoffs? If he is back to full form then he's the best player on the field, but I think that's highly unlikely.

Berry and Poe both have to be paid. That's not even including Marcus Peters. What if he continues to tear it up and all of a sudden he wants a contract ext after the 2017 season?? And if he keeps it up...he's going to demand a HUUUUGE payday. Chiefs will have to make some interesting decisions.
