The cloud of smoke looked like several pounds black powder. Just my observation

The flying debris can be more deadly than the explosion itself.

The video I'm watching of the first explosion further up the route shows what looks like an older runner just getting flattened after the blast. Looked like he might have been hit by some shrapnel...or maybe just the concussion of the blast.

I hate this shit too but I don't know people are so paranoid about this or find it surprising. There are crazy ppl out there. Fact. They do crazy shit. Fact. Crazy ppl have always done crazy stuff. Out of all the things that can happen to you, being injured or killed from a terrorist has got to be about #12,059 cause of death in the United States. Bees kill more ppl a year, Bees.

Yeah, and the guy to his left, you can tell he gets hit by something in the head.

Holy shit. That video is eerie. the runners just sort of like wtf just happened. Whoever accepts responsibility for this is a huge pussy. Prayers for those hurt and their families.

Well, the parts in Boston are better known for being relatively price brownstones and the like. There is commercial there, but nothing big. No high rises, nothing that would suggest itself as a major target.

Here's a pic to give you a sense

Tax Day, 20 year anniversary of Waco this week, Oklahoma City bombing anniversary this week...

Could be domestic terrorism.

The marathon was being run in honor of the victims of the Newtown massacre. Some families were apparently watching from near the finish line:

Yeah, well, if bees attacked the Boston marathon and killed a couple people and wounded 22, it'd be major ****ing news too, so what's your point?

BWillie 04-15-2013 02:08 PM

I bet it was some disgruntled white marathon runner getting sick of Kenyans always winning.
