Especially when that shot is a 3 when you're the worst shooter on the floor.

Pablo 03-24-2013 12:32 PM

And **** Craft; but that shot was gutsy as shit. Just hold it and pull up and drain it. Well, good plan I guess.

No, they won't call it because that would be the dumbest thing the officials could possibly do.

WTF was that?

Great game by ISU too bad they couldn't pull it out. Congrats ISU on a great season.

Let's be honest Craft took a shot in a tie game, not really that ballsy. If OSU would have been down 2 or 3 it would have been ballsy.

This. Granted the refs did call tons of tic-tac BS on both sides down the stretch, the next step would be to start blow whistles on players that aren't even playing.

Anyways, OSU can suck it, glad they won for my bracket though.

ISU season defined by two charging calls (one called, one not).

Yea, after letting ISU back into the game by missing the front end of 3 1-1's, then turning the ball over twice, leading to 11 of ISU's points in that 13-0 run, it wasn't ballsy at all to hold the rock for 29 seconds and release a three with 1.5 on the clock to win a trip to the SS.

Not at all.

Their season was actually defined by lack of defensive presence. You can boil it down to a couple of possessions if you like; but teams that don't play defense don't typically win close games.

Sure, I would have loved to have seen them send Craft packing, but I'm not going to act like one charge(bad call or not) defines the entire game. Especially when they let a half dozen uncontested layups go in and were down 13 at one point.

That's true. But Craft totally waved off the best scorer on the team who the play seemed to be run for. I like that kind of confidence. Now if he bricks it like he probably would 70% of the time, we would all be laughing at him and calling him dumb.

To be honest, If I was coaching there, I would have played off too, make him beat you outside and not drive on you to the rim. He can get to the rim easily at times and is a good FT shooter, even though he missed a few at the end of the game.

Yeah, to me it was the ISU players hand that was swatting in that direction. It could have went off OSU but I didn't see it that way. Even if it was off OSU, I don't like plays called like that. If you're the one swatting it OOB on those fingertip players, it should be off you and I think the refs often automatically call it like that.

Yep. A team that plays defense can shut down a good point.

ISU couldn't. Even though Craft kept tripping over his own dick, missing shots and FT's; he still made quite a few easy points and hit the final shot to seal it.

They pretty much do every segment. Barkley just sees this as a stage to give his opinion and go off on anyone he wants, including the two to his right. He constantly takes pot shots at both guys and their favorite teams. Kenny Smith rarely smiles, you can tell he doesn't think it's professional or necessary.

But, I think CBS thinks its good TV and Chuck is making his $ and until someone tells him to shut it....

I've had my fill of Cyclone tears for the season. I honestly don't care if he comes in here with his sadness. I know he'll re-fill my cup for many years to come; and that's good enough for me.

Braincase 03-24-2013 01:02 PM

Nobody has even mentioned that the first player coming in from the shooter's left fouled him with the body before Craft was ever involved in the play, and I thought the shooter was up in the air before Craft even arrived. (My opinion)

So in five years, will we remember that Pablo didn't think ISU played good enough defense, or will we remember their heart-breaking defeats with the mass discussion about charging calls?

I get that you're on the defense soap box, but that's not how ISU won games. Hoiberg knew his team's strengths and weaknesses and played to them. It's easy to win games defensively with a Withey at the rim. It's not as easy when you play small and your best defender misses the entire 2nd half due to injury.

BWillie 03-24-2013 01:04 PM

I dont know why ppl are so concerned if Crafts foot was over the line or not. It was a block either way. A secondary defender shouldnt be able slither under a guy that has already left the ground and expect a charge call. Sickening. Worse than the KU game because that was just a no call.

I thought the exact same thing. Shouldn't have been a charge, regardless, but in that situation, they missed both calls...

The head of officals just said that if his foot was hovering over the circle it would of been a foul but he couldnt tell if his foot was.

This. There were 16 fouls in the last 10 minutes, none of them "intentional." Let em' play!!!

RedDread 03-24-2013 01:15 PM

This is mostly why I hate Craft, he gets every call. They'll let him molest the guards all game and not call shit, and since he's the smallest guy on the floor, he always gets the charge call when someone runs his dumb ass over.

Combine that with whining to the refs about every call/no call makes him my least favorite player in CBB. He's a bitch.

Ah well, at least my final 4 is still alive.

BWillie 03-24-2013 01:18 PM

Possible that 4 B1G teams get to the Final Four. Michigan, Ohio State, Mich State, Indiana....then you still have Minn and Illinois in there as wildcards. Has that ever been done before?

The reason it ticked me off is because after the charge call the announcers immediately started fellating Craft for having the presence of mind to raise his heel so it would still be a charge. It was pretty much the perfect storm of stupid.
