It's not unthinkable that Boss, or other members have legitimate contacts.

I know some players and former players. Some people know people who work for the team, or learn things from media. There are a handful of posters on this site over the years that have had quite a bit of good information before it was out.

10-15 people on CP could do a better job than 1/3 of NFL GM's

...

just ****ing hysterical

Hootie 02-26-2015 11:28 AM

if Matt Millen joined CP as 'Bufkin v 2.0' he'd be the best GM on this board and 2nd place would be like the Matthew Delledova to Millen's LeBron James.

Hootie 02-26-2015 11:30 AM

and I have no doubt that some people on CP have "media contacts" but the way Boss floats things around is hilarious ... he truly wants to break news to CP and then get total credit for it

he wants us to carry him off the proverbial CP field after he NAILS this Dez Bryant child rape story

Jets
Browns
Titans
Raiders
Jaguars
Bucs
Panthers
Falcons
Lions
Redskins

All of those teams front offices are complete dumpster fires.

Give the same keys those guys got to the best and brightest of CP and the results would be very interesting.

Shit, most would take my drafts from the CP mock of the falcons the last few years over their actual drafts. That's with going off what I saw in games and meshing that with the combine results and info available on the internet...not factoring in all the face to face interviews, medical reports, in person scouting, talking to former coaches, friends and family, and all the other resources these teams have at their disposal to do their research.

It was more a comment about the lacking quality of a great deal of front offices than the quality of the posters here, obviously.

Completely this.

Hootie 02-26-2015 11:48 AM

the problem is, you guys are just regurgitating picks from your favorite PROFESSIONAL (OR FAKE PROFESSIONAL) mock drafters. You aren't actually doing any work.

I used to say this to Mecca all of the time. I could lock any of you "pro GM's" in a dark room, all by yourself, with no access to anything but college game film, combine film, Senior Bowl results, etc...

AND THEN I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU MOCK

it would be a hilarious laughable ****ing joke

This is the incident that has been generating headlines and wild rumors over the last 24 hours. The report says an unknown person called police to explain a black female was "being dragged from one vehicle to another vehicle" by a black male. The vehicle the woman was dragged from was a Mercedes registered to Bryant. When police arrived on the scene, the alleged victim was not there. Soon after, she arrived in a Bentley with Bryant and said she had an argument with a man named Alex Person and that she was not assaulted in any way. The police let everyone go, determining there was no offense. It remains unclear if there is any video of the incident, although most Wal-Marts have security cameras. You can read the full incident report at the link below.

An interesting write up about the police report. Multiple cars registered to Bryant showed up during this incident to clean up. Dez showed up later. Bizarre

Of course no one on this board could run a team. Where we get into trouble is when we selectively are smarter.

For instance, I would have drafted Russell Wilson over Donald Stephenson. Then I would have cut Matt Cassel.

That doesn't make me smarter than Pioli, because I would have drafted Aaron Curry and Terrence Cody and a slew of other busts.

What we have here is a bunch of blind squirrels who think they're super ****ing awesome at finding nuts, cuz... you know... that one time...

Who knows what you would do if you were given the same information Pioli or any other gm is given. You could still make bad decisions, but it's ridiculous to think all or most nfl gms are geniuses. I'd classify about half of them as borderline reeruns who only have jobs because of nfl incest.

Hootie 02-26-2015 12:46 PM

It's even more ridiculous to think someone on this board, with ZERO PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE (whether as a player or a coach or a member of personnel), could be an NFL GM. It's hilariously stupid.
