Didn't care much for this episode.

Last night's episode was gorgeous, not to mention it's quickly shooting up the charts as my favorite show currently on TV.

Cancelled. I'm actually surprised it lasted this long.

Too bad, great show.

NBC Has Canceled HANNIBAL
Good lord, what a bummer this is.

Welp. It's not the most surprising thing that's ever happened, but that does nothing to soften the blow: following a decrease in viewership, NBC has canceled Hannibal.

Here's a statement from series creator Bryan Fuller, as reported by Buzzfeed:

NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers. Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure. Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.

Netflix will gladly pick this up. Can you imagine how even more graphic it will be?

Anyong Bluth 06-22-2015 08:57 PM

The show does well outside the US.
I honestly don't think this will mean the end of the show- just the end of it on NBC. I'm sure someone will be happy to jump in and take up the US distribution rights.

I'll kepp on watching though!

Doubtful, but Amazon might. Amazon has the current 3 season rights.

The previous seasons have been available at different points on Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon. Amazon maybe just decided to lock up the licensing rights for an extended period?

I'm all for if Amazon wants to pick up Hannibal. They have been producing original content, but to this point, nothing to equal the cache of some of Netflix's content.
A feather in their cap would serve Amazon well.
