I have been lacking in updates. I am an asshole.

A picture though. Our owner enjoys dinner with the cup.

Statement from Sporting Club CEO Robb Heineman

"The naming rights partnership between our stadium and LIVESTRONG provides an opportunity to spread health and wellness messages that emphasizes the spirit of cancer survivorship. LIVESTRONG’s focus is the fight against cancer and the support of 28 million people around the world affected by this disease, and we believe strongly in this mission. The statements made last night by the Lance Armstrong Foundation speak for themselves: moving forward and continuing the fight against this horrible disease."

I really don't agree with this. A cheat is a cheat. To associate a club with that is horrible.

While people hate and say stupid things like "a cheat is a cheat," SKC and LSP will be making tangible progress into cancer research breakthroughs. There is no dumber reason for haters to hate on a team than that.

Dumb. The work they do is real. The money given is real. The goal hasn't changed.

Stupid things? How can you justify associating a sporting club with someone who has cheated his way to athletic success? It's antithetical.

There are plenty of charities, including ones that do great things for research, that SKC could work with, without the ethical issues.

Because it is stupid to think that SKC are cheaters themselves because of this.

But the owners are smart buisnesspersons. If they do some polling and research and find that people respond negatively to Livestrong then they'll do something to change the naming rights of the stadium. But people probably don't give a shit.

I don't think they're cheaters; I think it's wrong to associate a club with an organization that exists because someone cheated at a sport, to the detriment of everyone else.

I don't think it's going to negatively impact the club though, so I'm not sure where your argument is coming from. You're looking at it as a business situation, which I find odd.
