So...

Listening to Stanbot on 810 today, the most bitter pill is how Stanbot said "None of this is on Bruce Weber". As though Bruce Weber is Teflon coated.

When asked about next year's expectations, Stanbot said "I expect KSU to be better than TTU. I expect KSU to be better than TCU next year". And to hope another team stubs it's toe and maybe.... Maybe KSU can sneak into 6th place.

High expectations indeed.

So... The team that failed to score 20 points in a half 5 times and failed to score 50 in a game 6 times has now lost 47 of its 63 point scoring average from last season with graduation and Foster getting bounced.

Also,

5 years ago today I was in a Surprise AZ watching the KSU/XU 2OT sweet 16 game.

And today all that is gone.

You might not care, but as a KU fan, that game made me a legitimate fan of Frank Martin's wildcats. That was one of the most exhilarating tournament games I have ever seen. It is a legitimate travesty to see Weber put that program in the ground after only two years.

This.

Probably one of the only times I was a huge cats fan to the point I felt disappointment after the game.

One of the best games I've seen in a while....

The majority of K-Staters in my feed are applauding the move. For some reason I think this might have to do with the whole winning against KU thing you guys did this year.

JFC. If beating TTU and hoping to beat TCU are legit expectations, fire everybody. JFC. Huggins and Martin had you guys knocking on the door. Now you're trying to pull yourself TO the basement? **** that shit.

KSU plays basketball?

Yeah right. Before I know it you guys will try to tell me that KU plays football.

For perspective I believe strongly that Currie has Weber on a short leash. This season continues a downtrend. 27 wins, 20 wins, 15 wins. I don't think there is any way Weber can pull out of this.

He's a decidedly average coach with the uncanny ability to under recruit and brings a very mid major atmosphere with him. On top of that, he said after the loss to TCU ( the second loss to TCU this season by double digits) that he may have ... and I quote ...."over scheduled". No Bruce, you underpformed.

So, while Stan and the Hicks of the fanbase have a Jim Jones koolaide-esque belief that this was all on the players, their rude awakening is coming. Next season when the excuses start flowing after unacceptable losses.

I refuse to blame the season on two players who were suspended for failing a drug test. Or for attitude.

San also mentioned that the players didn't want to do it "The K-State way". Whatever that is supposed to mean. I suppose it means "losing" a lot of losing and doing it with players like Brian Rohleder who could start for Washburn. Maybe.

**** them all.

I question whether or not Currie has the political capital to send Bruce packing. If Webber fails, Currie could be in danger of going down with him.

Yeah I don't see it considering what Currie's brought to the table financially & with regards to our facilities. Plus this is just his first hire that's bombed (even though we all said it would on Day 1). If he hires another slapdick to replace Bruce or ****s up the football hire, then we'll talk.

The bigger mistake than hiring Bruce in the first place (which was a massive mistake) was extending his ****ing contract & giving him a raise after 2 years.
