Ok so I decided to start doing storyline and got caught up in it, so I didn't go to the Whiterun place I store my items for a bit and now everything is gone. Didn't happen during whole game until now. That pisses me off. The barrels by the Blacksmith. So now I'm just going to restart this character b/c that a lot of crap I needed. And also, that is straight up bs.

Went through and deleted every Skyrim file I had and made a new character. Hopefully this shit doesn't freeze.

I've got my new character up to level 52 now. I've started getting speech skills - just added the one that allows you to invest in business to raise their base cash amounts. The skill before that lets you sell anything to any merchant, which is a real time saver. I've got houses in Solitude, Rifken and Markarth. I've still barely completed anything in the main quest, or picked a side in the overall war, although I'm sure I'll go with the Stormcloaks (it's the rebel in me :D ).

Since I'm maxed out or nearly maxed out in all my primary skills at this point, I'm having to do new things to level up now. Starting to conjure stuff more and use destruction magic in combat, although I always keep the bow handy.

Well, I've got a serious game play problem all of a sudden.

I'm in the Companion's building in Whiterun, and every time I try to leave it dumps me out of the game back into Steam. I can go into the basement and back, sleep, resave, basically do whatever I want, but when I try to leave the building it dumps me out. I've changed resolutions, dismissed the follower, changed up pretty much everything I can think of.... nothing. Looks like I'll have to back to a much earlier save.

Well, so much for Companion quests - just replayed to the point where I was before entering the last time, wisely saving right before entering the building. Same thing. Doesn't matter what I do inside, which exit I try to leave from, the game dies when I try to leave. It's like a goddamn Roach Motel. :banghead:

I guess I'll do some other stuff and then try it again later.
