My stupid ****ing roomate keeps ****ing leaving the damn thing on for hours and hours at a time while he passes out on the couch, I wake up for work the next morning and the mother****er is still on.

My xbox360 isn't even a year old. I didnt get the warranty on it......am I just ****ed out of luck?

Same thing happened to me last week. XBOX has extended the warranty to three years for the RROD. Either go to the site or call 1 800 4MYXBOX. They will take care of it.

Your roomate leaving it on definately speeded up the process. Tell him to buy his own game system to **** up.

Just a heads up, if you call they'll make you get your own box and packaging. If you request the repair online, they'll still send you a box.

I just had this happen to me when my Xbox RRoD'ed on me a couple weeks ago.

Meh. I like having the book handy. Don't mind spending the $20.

Thats odd. I called back in April and they sent me a box. Maybe its a new policy...

Same, mine was a few months ago and they sent me the box. Took me 2 days to get it, then 10 days from the time i shipped it to get it back.

They are cutting costs. I cancelled my first repair order that I originally started by calling the repair center (the one where they wanted me to provide packaging) and then did another one online and they sent a box. This has just started happening in August.

Hm. Well I think I'll just save my money and get games that avoid that hurdle all together. :) Thanks for the tip though.

Yeah, we will be getting that one too. Will have to wait for Christmas to play it though.
