If Nolan had used the same actor as primary antagonist in consecutive movies, I'd have been unimpressed.

FWIW, I'm not a fan of Cillian Murphy but he played completely different characters and neither were the primary actor. Same goes for Tom Hardy.

But to go from the main, "evil" antagonist in Star Trek to a Sith Lord in Star Wars is lame.

FWIW, I didn't see I.D. in the theater nor will I purchase the DVD or Bluray. I have lost all interest in anything Abrams, including his TV shows.

No, I just think he's an uncreative hack. LOST pissed me off beyond belief, Into Darkness just furthered that premise and IF he hires Cumberbatch to once again be his "bad guy", it's going to be very difficult to get me to a movie theater to see Episode VII.

Most likely, impossible.

Plus, I'm tired of the whiny bitch. First, he bitches about Star Wars not shooting in LA, then bitches about moving his family to London for the shoot (Oh, the horror!), then creates a new space in Santa Monica in order to do green screens and reshoots specifically for Episode VII.

Yep. Ditto to all of this.

Guy is standing on the shoulders of giants and pissing down their backs.

I watched the second ST movie. Not too bad. At least it was watchable.

At this point, I'm more excited for Star Wars Rebels than Episode VII.

I missed the discussion on Rebels. What is it going to entail.

It's going to take place between Episode 3 and 4, during the time of the growing Empire, with Vader hunting down the remaining Jedi.

Oh yeah, Disney XD, Fall of 2014.

As a movie, right?

That sounds bad ass.

Buehler445 09-23-2013 10:02 PM

Never mind. That sounds less bad ass.

Animated series. The Clone Wars animated series, especially the last two seasons, were bad ass.

The space battles look every bit as good as any Star Wars movie and the voice casting was excellent.

I expect Rebels to be even better.

From what I've "heard", there will be movies set in that same time period as well.

Disney re-iterated just last week that Episode VII will debut in 2015 but that in 2016, the stand alone movies will start.

So "Episodes" in 2015, 2017 and 2019 with "Stand Alones" in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Again, I'm more excited for anything other than Jar Jar Abrams films.
