Well now that was just delightful!

He's a new character, plain and simple. I do, however, find it interesting that he's not human, as the Emperor was anti-alien. |
Why would anyone think that Snoke is a re-incarnated Darth Vader? Vader had his redemption, he showed up as a Force Ghost with Obi-Wan and Yoda...let go of it already.
|

Thankfully, that's not the case, as he appears in the flesh in VIII. |
Has anyone read all of Chuck Wendig's "Aftermath" series? I'm about two thirds of the way through Empire's End, and I expect to get clues as to Snoke's identity at some point, either in the story or in the epilogue. Hux's backstory has mostly been filled out, so I'm waiting on the connection to the modern trilogy and its characters to pop up.....
|
Snoke's identity isn't going to be revealed in a ****ing book.

Updated with the new Behind The Scenes trailer
|
God damn. This movie is going to own. Luke looks GREAT.
|
Yeah, this looks to be an absolutely amazing film. I really can't wait.
|
I was getting to that point where I was thinking there should be some news or a new trailer, or anything. Thanks for posting.
And yes, this looks like it's going to blow everybody away. |
At around the 2 minute mark, Daisy is training against three opponents. Knights of Ren deathmatch in this film, hopefully.
|
It's entirely possible that Rey surpasses Ahsoka Tano as my all time favorite Star Wars character in this movie. She looks like she's gonna own this thing.
|
“In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017.” --- I hope this wipes out the Midichlorian nonsense |
I always liked the idea that Qui Gon Jinn was rogue in his belief of midichlorians. That's my headcanon, anyway. He thought he was on to something with those and so he got really into this weird pseudoscience and pursued it. I like to imagine Yoda and all the Jedi on the Council were all like, "look at that idiot and his goddamn midichlorians... such a waste of a good mind...."

I think that the synopsis might be referencing The Force as described in Star Wars Rebels by the Bendu. I also think it's possible that in the film, Luke discovers the true downfall of the Jedi and that it wasn't necessarily the actions of the Sith that led to their demise. December 15th can't get here soon enough! |
I'm totally with you on your TLJ speculation. Bendu, etc...
That's exactly where I'm at with this too. |

Everyone knows Disney doesn't make movies for nerdy fans. And let's admit that anyone who recognizes the words "journal of the Whills" is a nerd. It'll take some splainin' to get the concept of "grey" over to the average Ewok/ Jar Jar loving Star Wars fan. |

First off, it's Lucasfilm, not Disney. Secondly, if you're going to make this claim and refer to Lucasfilm as Disney, I take it you've never seen a Marvel film. |

Then why are both dudes holding polearms, and why isn't Daisy Ridley practicing with him there?
I think it's another fight. |

But who would he be fighting, if not Luke or Rey? |

Maybe he spars with the Praetorian guards for practice or something. Or they could be Resistance soldiers. |

There is some CGI done here on Luke's face. I wonder if this is a shot from a flashback. Maybe showing him just before he goes into exile on Ach-To.

Rian Johnson definitely says that Benicio Del Toro is NOT Ezra Bridger in Episode VIII:
http://comicbook.com/starwars/2017/0...r-wars-rebels/ Director Rian Johnson was asked point blank if Benicio del Toro's new character nicknamed "DJ" is actually Ezra or if they have any connection. “He’s his own person,” Johnson answered on Good Morning America. “DJ is his own person.” Johnson also stressed that “DJ” is what the character is called in the movie and that it stands for something, hinting that it would be a big reveal when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters. ---- Dark Jedi? |
Sounds like it could be possible Rian Johnson is administering some word-jitsu by saying "He's his own person". He could have slammed the door shut by saying "No, Ezra Bridger has no connection to the character Del Toro is playing in this movie", but left it ambiguous.
If he IS a Dark Jedi, I find it more likely that he actually could be Ezra with a new identity, a smuggler type of persona based on his "buddy" Hondo Ohnaka. |
Did The Star Wars Cast Drop A Massive Gray Jedi Hint?
http://comicbook.com/starwars/2017/0...ray-jedi-hint/ It sounds like the next Star Wars movie is going to have a lot of… gray… areas. While cast members Daisy Ridley, Kelly Marie Tran, Gwendoline Christie, Laura Dern, Benicio del Toro, and Mark Hamill spoke with Good Morning America, some stressed that the upcoming film would explore themes that sit in the middle of the spectrum of good and evil. “This is the second of three films,” Ridley said. “So there may be a lot of gray that’s very exciting.” “We’re all gray,” Tran added. The interviewer asks if Star Wars: The Last Jedi itself will dwell more in the gray area and Ridley responds: “I would say, yes.” With how many times the interviewer and the cast members said the word "gray", it’s kind of hard not to take this discussion as a hint toward the inclusion of Gray Jedi, or something similar, in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Gray Jedi were in the former Extended Universe stories as being balanced with both the Light and Dark Sides of the Force. We've yet to see that explored in the movies or TV shows, though it could be argued that Ahsoka Tano has taken a similar path after leaving the Jedi Order. All of this, of course, is speculation until we get to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but we certainly wouldn't be upset if they included Gray Jedi or even a similar concept. It wouldn't be completely out of left field — even though the original trilogy dwelled firmly in the concepts of light versus dark, the prequels established that being beheld to one or the other could lead to a downfall. ----- Also, the actor that portrays Ezra Bridger on Star Wars Rebels is Taylor Gray. :D |
Quote:
If so, I would think that if Ezra was still alive, he be portrayed by an actor closer in age to Mark Hammil (65) than Del Toro (50). I suppose they could explain it away by saying that DJ had been in Carbonite for 15 years or so but it doesn't seem to line up. |

So on the surface, it doesn't look like Del Toro's age lines up with Ezra's but considering it's the Star Wars universe, anything can be explained away. But at this point, I'll Rian at face value until proven otherwise. |
|
This is somewhat interesting. Also, see the tall weapon that's in Rey's packaging? Again, I think it's her that Kylo is fighting in the earlier pics.

That's the same staff she had in TFA.

Other people can have staffs, dude.
It makes no sense to have Driver choreographing with someone other than Rey if they fight. Also, his lightsaber would make quick work of her staff. So I'm guessing that's some other character wielding something ala General Grievous' droids in Episode 3. And there are two of them wielding the same thing. |

He may have already dispatched of her lightsaber, with the only remaining item in which to defend herself is the staff. |

Nope, Dane. I'm sorry. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Thanks for playing. You don't know anything about Star Wars or movies or any of it. "Hammock" is clearly the expert here. Please stop trying to argue. You're out of your depth.
