Tampa's draft;
Star Lotulelei DT Zach Ertz TE Logan Ryan CB Zavier Gooden OLB Terry Hawthorne CB Jordan Mills, OT Malliciah Goodman, DE Tampa Bay Selects; Corey Fuller, WR, Virginia Tech Dackman PM'd |
The Cincinnati Bengals select David Bass, DE, Missouri Western State.
|
At this point, are you guys making an educated selection with your picks? I mean we're pretty deep into the draft here, surely everyone can't know all these players.
|
G'day, mate. The sixth and seventh rounds are a great time to make a value pick or take a chance on a player with skills but some red flags as well. Also a great time to beat the bushes and find a small school gem.

The Falcons select
Khaled Holmes, C, USC |

Nice pick. Did you know he is Troy Polamalu's cousin? |
billay asked me to do his picks to keep the draft moving.
Baltimore Ravens select Michael Mauti, LB, Penn State |
Baltimore Ravens select Cooper Taylor, S, Richmond
|
And the Texans continue with their efforts to stack their defense by adding a faster version of Brandon Flowers to their backfield.
Okay...that may be a little optimistic, but this kid's an outstanding athlete and a physical defender. Blazing speed with the best broad jump and vertical among CBs in the draft. You'll be hard pressed to find a better Nickle CB prospect in this draft, IMO and the position is getting so important that you can damn near give it a starter's value. The Houston Texans select - Steve Williams, CB - Cal I freakin' love this draft for the Texans. |
Damn there goes my Raiders pick.

Baltimore Ravens select Branden Smith, CB, Georgia

Really shocked this guy hasn't been picked yet. I imagine he'll go as high as the 4th in the real draft. Has ideal size for the 3-4, and showed a real knack for big plays in his senior year.
The Kansas City Chiefs select AJ Francis, DE/DT, Maryland |
Oakland Raiders select Nigel Malone, CB, Kansas State

Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Mike Glennon, QB, NC State Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia Kevin Reddick, LB, North Carolina Sean Renfree, QB, Duke Earl Wolff, S, NC St I think that's a game changer draft. I still have 4 picks, but they are all for Atlanta so That's the 2013 draft class I drafted for Buffalo. Thoughts? |
What the ****ing ****? This guy hasn't been taken yet?
Draft is over, fellas. I just won the entire thing with this here 7th round pick. The Kansas City Chiefs select Duke Williams, S, Nevada |
Hate Glennon. Really like the WRs.
|
The Kansas City Chiefs wrap up a fairly hit or miss draft. This thing isn't nearly as good as what I gave the Packers. I'm most disappointed in the Nico Johnson selection. After that one, there was just this rancid and sour taste in my mouth, even though I picked several guys I really like after that.
The last two picks of Francis and Williams are very very intriguing. I did very well there, IMO. Bell was an awesome pick. Oh, and of course Geno. Comments or outbursts of "You suck AIDS!" are welcome. 1. Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia 3. Barrett Jones, OL, Alabama 3. Nico Johnson, ILB, Alabama 4. John Simon, DE/OLB, Ohio State 5. Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State 6. Chris Gragg, TE, Arkansas 6. AJ Francis, DE/DT, Maryland 7. Duke Williams, S, Nevada |
Thanks for making my picks CC today was a busy day figured you boys wanted to get this thing over with and I didn't want to hold it up for a day.

With Jon Hankins already in the fold a 3-tech DT to back up and learn from the master, Kevin Williams, is needed. The Minnesota Vikings select Everett Dawkins, DT, FSU.

Chargers are going to take the last of the legitimately athletic ILB prospects available:
Jonathan Stewart, ILB - Texas A&M I think Texas A&M flipping back to a 4-3 hurt his stock quite a bit; he'll be a nice fit as an SILB in San Diego. |
The Chargers draft is complete:
Luke Joeckel - LT Jon Jenkins - NT Michael Buchanan - OLB Oday Aboushi - OT Will Davis - CB Lavar Edwards - DE Johnathan Stewart - ILB This is a good draft, IMO, but not a great one. Had I gone with Collins over Buchanan, I'd think it was a very good draft and had I gotten a little lucky with the RB runs and had someone like Michael fall to me in the 6th, I think Lavar Edwards would've slid to the 7th and then I could call it a legitimately great draft. In the end, the Chargers had massive holes all over their OL and I think I got 2 solid starting caliber players. They also had nobody capable of playing the nose and Jenkins has as much upside at the position as anyone in the draft. Will Davis was a nice pick that slid a bit and ultimately, since the Chargers will likely need a FS soon, even if his underwhelming speed at the combine proves to be his peak, he has more than enough ability to be a nice FS prospect so he was a safe pick as well. I'll give my draft a B, but only because of how perfect the Luke Joeckel pick would be for them. |

But if you give me a team that has a QB already, even a decent one, and you'll see me go whole hog trying to build the O-line and front 7. I can't help it - it's what I grew up with. |

Pittsburgh needs some real help at RB, and the addition of Stepfan certainly addresses that. Let's do it again. With their final selection in the 2013 CP NFL Mock Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Miguel Maysonet RB Stony Brook

Steelers draft is complete. I am pretty ****ing pleased with this draft. Jarvis Jones falling all the way to 17 was a great start to the draft. I was able to address the Steelers serious need at RB, and getting Big Ben some more weapons to play with at WR after losing Wallace, and a big, lanky TE in case Heath Miller can't come back at 100% To be able to add a prototype in Jamie Collins, and a player with the upside of Gholston, this is a ****ing home run AFAIC, and the Steelers would be thrilled if this fell to them the way this draft has. I'm proud of this one. So feel free to shred it up, and let me know what you think. I'm a big boy, I can take it if you don't like it.
1. Jarvis Jones LB/DE 2. Robert Woods WR 3. Jamie Collins LB 4. William Gholston DE 5. Stepfan Taylor RB 6. Michael Williams TE 7. Miguel Maysonet RB |
