No one's watching Miami vs Dook? I've been looking forward to this one all day long.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 05:23 PM

What a stupid ****ing foul. Moran.

Until Baylor/KSU starts, yes.

I don't know whether Duke or Miami winning is better for KU (it might actually be Duke), but I just can't cheer for Duke. Can't do it.

I wouldn't normally ever cheer for Miami for anything, other than falling into the ocean. But I can't root for Dook. I hate them passionately, and have for as long as I can remember. Irrational, makes no sense, don't give a ****. I hate their existence. So tonight, I root for the Canes.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 05:55 PM

Miami played really well that half. Leading despite Kelly being on fire.

I have to say, I do really like their head coach.

DaKCMan AP 03-02-2013 06:33 PM

Miami has had a nice season but I don't understand the talk of them being a 1-seed.

They have 3 terrible losses (vs. Indian State, @Wake, @Florida Gulf Coast). In ESPN's BPI they're #14 and in Pomeroy ratings they're #13. Prior to tonight's result they look like a 3-seed to me.

Buehler445 03-02-2013 06:33 PM

ROFL Fall into the ocean. I agree. **** puke. Miami is playing with fire with the trap leaving dudes wide open. They have got to quit trying for the passes and recover to the shooter. Puke isn't going to miss them all.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 06:37 PM

Oh shit. ****ing dagger 3 ball.

Buehler445 03-02-2013 06:40 PM

Puke has this in the bag.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 06:41 PM

Ooh! I thought Dook was about to go on a run. Get it? Runny Dook! Nice play there by Scott.

Buehler445 03-02-2013 06:42 PM

MIA has to turn this effort into points and grab themselves a lead. The longer they go down to Duke the worse it is going to be.

Indiana State probably wasn't a terrible loss in the moment, but they've fallen apart here at the end of the season so it won't look good on paper. They went through a stretch mid-season where they beat Miami, Ole Miss, and whipped Creighton and Wichita State, plus close losses to a couple other ranked teams... they took New Mexico to OT. They were a legit at-large tournament candidate. But they have fallen off the earth since mid-February.

DaKCMan AP 03-02-2013 06:45 PM

Kelly is unconscious.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 06:48 PM

Miami is hanging tough through Dook's momentum.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 06:49 PM

I smell greed. He had to give that up to his teammate for an easy lay in. Poor, poor form.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 06:59 PM

Game.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 07:05 PM

I despise Duke and their refs. Miami still played well today. Duke needed to have Ryan Kelly be in a ridiculous zone to even beat them at home. It's clear they're a lot better with him, though.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 07:08 PM

Miami had impressive wins against MSU and Duke (and their ceiling is quite high as they're showing with their great play in this game), but their resume doesn't read as a 1 seed.

Unless of course they manage to pull this out of nowhere.

Agree completely.

DaKCMan AP 03-02-2013 07:15 PM

Entertaining game.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 07:16 PM

Duke survives....just barely. Miami looked like the better team to me today.

Hootie 03-02-2013 07:26 PM

So thirty teams can realistically win this tournament this year...no?

Easily. So I would hold any thought you have at betting a significant amount of money on any team.

nah I only bet on brackets...and not much more than $20 a bracket either

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 07:39 PM

Is Baylor going to show any desperation here? Their tournament lives are on the line essentially.

lewdog 03-02-2013 07:48 PM

Gonzaga racked up its 12th win against teams ranked OUTSIDE of the top 150. Congrats!

Hootie 03-02-2013 07:52 PM

I'll have Gonzaga losing either the 2nd round or 3rd round, no doubt

That probably won't end well for you, considering they're clearly one of the best four teams in the country.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 07:59 PM

Of course, it's the tournament so anything could happen. But I'm quite sure I'll be picking Gonzaga to go pretty far. Their offense is unstoppable.

Meh. They lost to Illinois. They don't have great guard play. Great guard play wins tournament games.

but you're right, who ****ing knows

I have my tourney theories and I've done very well a few times, and very poorly a few times.

The UConn/Butler year I won a LOT of $$$

I still disagree with that because they just aren't tourney tough and I think guard wise they are vulnerable although their bigs are some of the best. We shall see though. But I think 2nd or 3rd round bounce is definitely in the cards this year for them.

Of course I lived in Spokane so maybe that biased my hate for them!

tk13 03-02-2013 08:02 PM

I don't know why people are so hard on Gonzaga. Especially in a year when nobody looks dominant. That West Virginia team KU beat today... Gonzaga beat them by 34. They beat Oklahoma by 27. They beat K-State by 16. They also beat Baylor and won at Oklahoma State, a brutal place to win. I believe Gonzaga and KU are the only teams to win there. They're one of the few teams at the top who really doesn't have a bad loss.

Indiana lost to Illinois too. That can happen with a team like them that just jacks 3s up repeatedly for an offense.

Their strength is in Olynyk, but Pangos is one of the most efficient guards in the country.

2nd or 3rd round bounce is really in the cards for anybody. It's the NCAA tournament. But I don't see them as any more likely than any of the other top teams.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 08:05 PM

Scott Drew apparently doesn't understand the concept of a 2 for 1. Moronic. He deserves to have KSU finish them at the buzzer here.

tk13 03-02-2013 08:11 PM

That was horrible. Baylor just threw a length of the floor pass over everyone's head out of bounds with 1 second left. K-State now gets the ball under their own basket for the win.

tk13 03-02-2013 08:12 PM

LMAO And game. K-State for the win. Epic fail.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 08:29 PM

Drew is going to find himself out of a job pretty soon if he can't get teams with that kind of talent level into the NCAA tournament. And especially if he helps run his team out of must-win games with idiotic coaching.

KC_Connection 03-02-2013 08:49 PM

Drew says he "has a hard time not trying to win the game in that moment." He might want to consider the basic concept of a 2 for 1 if that's the case, then. And maybe not having the team aimlessly and riskily throw the ball down the entire court.

warpaint* 03-02-2013 09:06 PM

Scott Drew's the worst coach that somehow *wink* gets players I have ever seen

warpaint* 03-02-2013 09:08 PM

Heck of a shot by McGruder though. $ play. I just laughed and turned to the UCLA/AZ game.

lewdog 03-03-2013 03:06 PM

Spartans playing very sloppy, impressed with Michigan's defensive perimeter pressure.

Pablo 03-03-2013 03:28 PM

This game has the makings of a B10 offensive showcase.

First to 62 wins.

Vanilla tootsie rolls.

That trumps everything. Every time.

Pablo 03-03-2013 03:31 PM

Get that gay graphic off the screen. Everybody knows KU is getting that one seed. None of these B10 teams besides Indiana.

LiveSteam 03-03-2013 03:33 PM

Congrats to Creighton Blue Jays on winning the Mo-valley

lewdog 03-03-2013 03:59 PM

MSU shouldn't be winning this game.

lewdog 03-03-2013 04:20 PM

Wheels about to come off for the Spartans.

lewdog 03-03-2013 04:31 PM

I am cool with talking to myself, so I will keep going.

State, while talented, just continues to be so undisciplined on so many possession. Poor spacing on breaks, forced shots. Just won't get it done.

Pablo 03-03-2013 04:35 PM

That Appling guy is pretty good.

lewdog 03-03-2013 04:42 PM

At least let's get State +4, lol.

Pablo 03-03-2013 04:43 PM

Shit.

62 might have been way generous.

First to 56 wins!!

Told you 56 was the magic number.

KC_Connection 03-03-2013 05:13 PM

What a shitshow of a game this was. How does Beilein not go 2 for 1 there at the end? Are most of these coaches incapable of understanding the benefit of an extra possession in this scenario? Burke bails him out with the steal, but MU doesn't deserve this win.

Pablo 03-03-2013 05:17 PM

Yeah, for a top 10 match-up this has been a ****ing mess.

Oh well, hoping Michigan State pulls it out.

DaKCMan AP 03-03-2013 05:19 PM

What a terrible game. Both teams should get an 'L'.

KC_Connection 03-03-2013 05:19 PM

Of course, this game ends with a turnover and not getting a shot off. Couldn't end any other way.

Pablo 03-03-2013 05:19 PM

Burke comes up huge for Michigan. Damn good play.

lewdog 03-03-2013 05:23 PM

Poop play everywhere. Just turds.

KC_Connection 03-03-2013 05:46 PM

Michigan somehow managed to win without hitting a 3 and MSU only shot 35% against a bad defensive team. Just awful stuff.

KC_Connection 03-05-2013 09:41 PM

Refs bailing out Indiana right now against OSU. Completely whiffed on a charge call (which the terrible analyst Dakich agreed with) and then just gave them a phantom 3 PT call.

Pablo 03-05-2013 09:45 PM

Craft is playing very, very well.

Pablo 03-05-2013 09:49 PM

Ohio State can be final four good again if Craft plays like this.

Pablo 03-05-2013 09:52 PM

Just a straight rape for the last five minutes.

Which team? KU dominated OSU on the road when they played them. I can only assume they would do the same on a neutral court and I would relish the opportunity to beat them for the 4th time in the last 2 years (although if they play like this, they'll be tough for sure).

Indiana poses a much greater challenge. KU has nobody that could stop Oladipo in my mind. But still, KU at their best could beat them.

stonedstooge 03-05-2013 09:57 PM

Craft kid's tough

Pablo 03-05-2013 10:00 PM

Indiana couldn't buy a shot for like ten minutes and it's gonna cost them now. Need some serious miracle shit to pull this one out.

Buehler445 03-05-2013 10:03 PM

I didn't realize Zeller was THIS bad. Why in God's name was he being mentioned for player of the year? Kid is shit.

OSU playing some good ball. Craft and Scott getting away with a good bit of hacking, but they're playing well. Like I said when KU played OSU, I have no idea why Scott didn't have Craft's job. He's tremendously better than Craft.

Buehler445 03-05-2013 10:04 PM

LOL. How the hell is there no foul there?

KC_Connection 03-05-2013 10:04 PM

LOL at the no call there by the refs and then the travel. LMAO

Also LOL at Dakich agreeing with it.
