I don't know. Anything's possible. But I think after a week off, KSU handles Texas. No problem.

But after tonight, nothing will surprise me.

They are missing two of their best players.

It is going to be tough. At least Texas probably won't run that offense that KSU simply can't defend.

Down in the dumps right now, but KSU has a great shot at winning the Big 12!

One more win, and we can celebrate that and a BCS bowl bid!

KSU might not be the best team in the country (even when they were ranked #1), but they are better than what we saw tonight. They've played better than that all year long.

Maybe it won't be a cake walk, but KSU should beat Texas. I think they're the better team.

We'll see what happens.

Yea, we F'ed it up pretty bad.

But, there is still a Big XII title to play for. And a chance at a Fiesta Bowl. Season isn't lost. Just the chance for history.

It's like the difference between a NC and and a FF. Both are a pretty big deal.

That's right. It's not as if our trophy case is littered with Big 12 championships. Winning a conference title is really big. If you'd told me before the season that we could win the Big 12, go to a BCS bowl and Klein is invited to New York with a chance to win.....I'd have signed up for that 10 out of 10 times.

Ditto here as well. I honestly had K-State pegged at a 10-3 team with losses to Oklahoma, West Virginia, and a Bowl Game loss.

Welp, what does CK need to do Saturday to win the Heisman?

Or is it long gone?

NewChief 11-27-2012 09:24 PM

Going to be hard to beat out Johnny Football. I think that people the whole "A freshman has never won it" thing is attractive to voters at this point because it's such a story... as is Johnny Football. It just has sort of a sense of inevitable rightness at this point in time. I think CK is more deserving, but I'm not sure he'll get it.

DeezNutz 11-27-2012 09:27 PM

K-State has had a remarkable year. No question. And I'm going to be rooting for you guys this weekend. However, Klein has no legitimate shot at the Heisman, IMO.

mikeyis4dcats. 11-27-2012 09:28 PM

no chance CK wins unless he throws 9 touchdowns Saturday.

I disagree that Manziel is the better QB, and I think CK represents what the Heisman is supposed to stand for better, but the media has ruined it.

The good thing is that the media and public don't vote.

That's a saving grace in this situation, I think. Voters had been set on ck for 6 weeks. Manziel has had two weeks of hype. CK has the last chance to put up a studley game.

If he does, I'm hoping voters remember that. If it was a media selected thing it would ovvvvver, though.

but the media influences the voters. And the fact is that probably half of the voters will have already in fact submitted their votes before Saturday. Statistics show that probably 1/3rd of voters voted after last weekend.

and in fact, media DOES vote. here is a list of past voters for example http://www.stiffarmtrophy.com/heismanvoters/

KevB 11-27-2012 09:49 PM

Somewhere along the way, it seemed to be agreed upon that if the Cats went undefeated, Klein would win hands down. If the Cats lost, he was out. Not sure how that makes any sense, but it's the reality.

Tyler, TX (where he is from) is where I was living and working until this past Jan. I never met him but, do know some of his family from the bar I was running. In fact I spent last Thanksgiving with them while my family was in New Mexico. Now the part of the family I know are good people and on the up and up. But it is pretty well known around town that the Manziel family are more or less the local maffia.

so Collin Klein's 1 loss removes him from Heisman Trophy consideration but Johnny Manziel's 2 losses makes him the favorite?

I'd say it's more Manziels 1 good win overshadows Kleins 1 bad loss.

Who cares? Their season ended losing to Baylor. People who love conference titles and BCS bowls and suck it. The title game is all that matters.

Limping to the finish. Got fortunate on the pick 6 and then threw a pick in the EZ.

I'm a touch nervous as this team seems to be missing something. I wonder if CK has been right since getting his bell rung vs OSU.

No way as our play calling has changed since then. CK not really a threat in running game.

I know, but on the other hand, how many of us actually thought that beginning the season, we would have a sniff of being a BCS #1 with the inside track of the N/C game to begin with?

I didn't. I had us pegged a 9-4/10-3 win team with a Cotton Bowl/possible at-large BCS bid team.

This game made me forgot that Baylor loss and what that did. Amazing team to root for, and so happy for the seniors and HCBS. What an incredible coach. Oh, and did everyone see that CK vs. Manziel graphic toward the end? CK had eight games against AQ teams with winning records, while Johnny had four. CK was 7-1 with 25 TDs and 6 ints. Johnny was only 2-2, with only 5 TDs and 5 ints. That is striking, and if you ask me, that's the difference between who should and shouldn't win.

So, I live here in Austin. I'm also 26.

There's a big group of us twenty-somethings who hang out on gameday. Naturally, with us playing UT, and living in Austin, we had a little extra riding on this one for shit-talking purposes.

We were at this douchey club, and the DJ (guy who plays his iTunes on his mac and sips Tecates all night) and his pals were sitting there while we were all having a good time. He then proceeds to play the Youtube clip from Blazing Saddles where the guy says "buncha Kansas City pillowbitergots" on repeat for a whole minute.

So, we kinda glance around, all wearing purple, and do what anyone would do in the given situation. We all drop our pants to our ankles (boxers on) and dance like assholes while holding the upside-down longhorn sign near our dicks and air ****ed the shit out of it.

We got kicked out, and chanted "We own Texas."

Pretty solid night.

(cool story, bros.)
