Here is my final roster. I had some very painful cuts, which makes me happy. I've got some weaknesses, but I've got enough strengths that I had to cut some strong players.

I think he'll develop and end up on the 53 at some point.

That moves leaves me gasping for straws on the front.

Bates is a stud and the Chiefs' addition of Mathieu helped. Moore moving to his natural FS spot and likely being the starter there gives me a deep group. Hooker looked like a baller in pre-season and Tennessee is gushing about him so far. Could go from crap at Safety to an absolute stud group in 2 years. Unlike with Houston, I let Berry walk. My spirit wasn't feeling him on this roster anymore.

DB Dan Sorensen - My safeties look good so he wasn't a must keep
RB Darrell Williams - McCoy buried him further down the depth-chart and I already have 2 starters.
LB Blair Brown - Drafted him in the 5th two years ago but he got cut after a domestic battery charge. I also showed him the door no matter what the result.
CB Tremon Smith - Drafted him just like KC but he's very expendable in his current role, which I doubt lasts much longer in KC either
WR Stacy Coley - Drafted him in the 6th two years ago but he couldn't stick with the Jets after his short stint in Minnesota, so project over.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I traded my 6th round pick next year for Darron Lee, and I too will take the Mark Fields trade since it was free for us.

Just wanted to put together how I'm doing so far in this thing... Sure, some recent things will have to shake out. As it stands, looks like I'm pulling about 3 starting caliber players per draft and 1-2 backup/role players. That's not too bad. I still think Madison ends up a starting OG in GB at some point (this is essentially his rookie year) and I have pretty high expectations for my top 5 draft picks in 2019, especially the top 4, after their showing in preseason this year and I believe all become starters by year 2 or 3.

Man, I was fully prepared to dump every draft resource that year to go up and get him if at all possible. Thankfully, the Chiefs did the smart thing and it allowed me to fill up my RB stable on top of it.

Okay, how did my team do this year? Not as good as Andy's, but that's fine.

On offense, I have pro bowl guys at QB, RB, and TE, and likely at LT. That makes for a solid offense. My WRs and one guard position were weak, but all in all it's a strong offense.

My defense isn't the same story. I've got a great backfield with two all pros at CB and SS, and solid starters and depth. But my front seven doesn't make a lot of splash plays. They're decent against the run, but can't generate pressure.

My special teams is great, of course.

All in all, I think this is a playoff team, but not a Super Bowl team. What do others think?

Kelce is the best TE in the league and was a pro bowler. He's in essence my WR1. Nauta and Wilson were both rookies who were there to learn. Good starter, no depth.

Your defense is in far better shape overall than mine. I think you need more explosiveness at WR and a better pass rush, but looks like a solid roster that would be a playoff team.

I had as dynamic of a 1-2-3 punch at running back as you could ask for. Jones led the way as my all-purpose back with 1,086 yards on the ground, 474 receiving and 19 total TDs. Carson was no slouch either, rushing for 1,230 yards and receiving for 266 more and 9 total TDs. McCoy was an early season producer but just icing on this rushing attack with 465 yards rushing, 181 receiving, and 5 TDs.

FB - Anthony Sherman

Boyd had another top-notch year for me with 1,046 yards and 5 TDs. Watkins came up big in big moments. My reliable #3 in Higgins turned into a bench warmer that may be on his way out in Cleveland. Thankfully, Johnson started producing this year as a rookie and finished with 31 receptions for 294 yards and 3 TDs. Thompson didn't make it in KC and ended up over in Seattle and is on a reserves/futures contract. I might need to add a couple guys this offseason.

Wyle and Rankin are solid reserve guys. I'm not sure what will happen with Cole Madison, but his future is up in the air at the moment.

I have 3 starting centers on one roster, which really helps my depth and the ability to slide a guy to OG if need be. My 2nd round guy, McCoy, looked like he has the makings of a future All-Pro. McGovern is solid and Reiter is adequate.

Losing Phillips the 3rd week of the season really hurt an already bad defensive line. Losing Xavier Williams made it almost unbearable. Watkins was a reserve that had 23 tackles and 1 sack. Ivie saw action in 3 games and didn't do a thing for Tennessee. Sieler ended up bouncing to Miami mid-year and ended up seeing action in 3 games, including 1 start, with 8 tackles and 1 sack. I have some major work to do here in the offseason.

Houston continues to be a good player with 44 tackles and 11 sacks. Judon is much the same, just a terror on the edge with 54 tackles and 9.5 sacks. Okafor chipped in 22 tackles and 5 sacks, Ximines looked like he'll have a future with 25 tackles and 4.5 sacks, Kpass had 29 tackles and 4 sacks, and Okoronkwo got some field time in 10 games with 7 tackles and 1.5 sacks. I'm still doing more than fine on the edge, but Houston and Judon aren't getting any younger.

Byron Murphy ended up starting and having 78 tackles, 10 pd, and 1 int in year one. He had his growing pains and was targeted alot, but taking that abuse and surviving as a rookie means he should only become better and better, especially working with Peterson. We had good returns from Breeland and Fuller resurrected the end of the season playing some safety. Hill didn't get to build much on his strong rookie year as he spent half the season suspended and finished with 13 tackles, 1 pd and 0 int. Depending on what happens with Breeland, I may need to add again early on this year.

Bates was an absolute stud once again at FS with 100 tackles, 9 pd, and 3 int. Mathieu was the heart and soul at SS with 75 tackles, 2 sacks, 12 pd, and 4 int. Moore was a solid reserve with 3 starts and had 25 tackles and 3 pd. Hooker was also a reserve that finished with 19 tackles.

We know this group, very good but Colquitt should probably be replaced.

Overall, my offense is nearly untouchable. Solid line. Great QB. Great running game. Pro-Bowl level WR1. All-Pro TE. It's pretty special.

Defensively, much to be desired. I had a strong pass rush and outstanding safeties, but everything in between was fairly devoid of talent. I can't complain too much about my LBs but an upgrade from Hitchens is needed. The defensive tackle position has to be addressed and CB could be better.

Honestly, I think this would be a Super Bowl team if I had better defensive tackles. I think teams would have gashed me inside.

Other than your defensive line, your team's a powerhouse, kccrow. You've been drafting really well.

Here you go final 53 man roster took a while but I did it. Collins at LT and Mitchell Schwartz at RT wish I would’ve drafted Eric fisher now but hindsight is 2020. Love my rbs plus my D is probably better than the chiefs. Too many guards If this were real sure my team would trade one of our four starting guards for a quality LT by now.

Draft needs RB, WR, LT, CB best draft was 2018 Davis, Harrison, hurst, Bozeman are all starters

Don't know if I'll be around much for a while so I'm going to post this right away...

I come into this offseason with a serious need to add upper-echelon talents to the defensive line and depth at LB, CB, and WR.

Draft capital includes an extra 2nd round pick from the Dee Ford trade but no 6th or 7th round picks due to trading for Darron Lee and Jordan Lucas, leaving me with 1-32, 2-63, 2-64, 3-96, 4-138, and 5-177.

I made the decision not to do a pre-draft trade, which may be a blessing in disguise at this point. In any event, I will make an in-draft trade down sending my 3rd round pick #96 to the Chicago Bears for their 4th round pick #125, 5th round pick #163, and 7th round pick #226. The 96th pick is valued at 116 points and has a discounted value of 75.4 points. The Bears picks are worth 47, 26.2, and 1 point respectively, adding up to 74.2 points.

I don't accept the Chiefs trade of a 2021 6th for 7th round #237.

With that, here's the Superior Yetis Draft:

1-32 - DT Ross Blacklock, TCU (6'3" 290, HOU #40)
I had my eyes fixated on taking Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr., or Brandon Aiyuk early on but doing so would put me in a difficult spot to get impact defensive tackles that I desperately need. Blacklock is a penetrating defensive lineman that can consistently push the pocket and make plays and was widely regarded as the 3rd rated defensive tackle in this draft. In the actual NFL, Blacklock should be an immediate starter at 3-4 DE opposite JJ Watt which should bode well for my team going forward.

2-63 (f/SF) - LB Logan Wilson, Wyoming (6'2" 241, CIN #65)
Unlike the Chiefs, I'm not hinging my hopes and prayers at LB to a guy that isn't smart and hasn't produced on the field. Instead, I'm going with a guy that has had outstanding production and a player most analysts have called the most complete linebacker in this draft. This isn't necessarily an immediate need with Damien Wilson, Anthony Hitchens, and Cole Holcomb all starters, but improving over Hitchens and Wilson in the final year of his contract are certainly the biggest consideration here.

2-64 - DT Justin Madubuike, Texas A&M (6'3" 293, BAL #71)
After spending a 3rd round pick on Harrison Phillips at DT in 2018, he had a stellar rookie season only to tear his ACL early in 2019 and miss the year. I expected to have him back at least as a strong rotational player but the signings of Quinton Jefferson and Vernon Butler this offseason by the Bills has me concerned about Phillips so I basically have to find two starters in this draft. I'm going to bring in one of Mel Kiper's favorites here in Madubuike who may not start in 2020 and may marinate behind Derek Wolfe (1-year deal), but he should be in the mix immediately and become a starter in 2021 to, hopefully, give me outstanding bookends for my defensive front. Between Madubuike and Blacklock I should have myself a penetrating defensive front that can make plays.

4-125 (f/CHI) - WR Gabriel Davis, Central Florida (6'2" 216, BUF #128)
I have an obvious need at WR after Tyler Boyd and Sammy Watkins with a practice squad bandit in Cody Thompson, a current free agent in Rashad Higgins, and a roster bubble guy in Olabisi Johnson rounding out my corps, plus Watkins is a free agent after 2020. Davis is a guy that has an opportunity to immediately become a #3 receiver and eventually much more as he develops. This is a guy that can come in and push the field vertically as well as be a matchup problem as a big-bodied possession type but he will have to develop his route tree and route-running ability.

4-138 - CB L'Jarius Sneed, Louisiana Tech (6'0" 192, KC #138)
I had to go into this thing thinking about CB because my depth behind Breeland (on a 1-year deal) and Byron Murphy consists of Holton Hill and he may only be a 4th corner. Like the Chiefs, I was high on Sneed coming into this. I think Sneed projects as a CB on the next level and I think that's where KC will look to play him, but he also can be an interchangeable piece in the secondary and provide you with different looks. Sneed comes with alot of speed and is physical in the route, which I really think is something needed in a division now loaded with speed receivers.

5-163 (f/CHI) - ER Curtis Weaver, Boise State (6'2" 265, MIA #164)
When I originally made the trade down, my eyes were initially on another Boise State player, WR John Hightower. The problem is that Hightower is going to an extremely crowded receiver room and his career trajectory comes into question. Weaver is a guy, where you have to listen to Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah and agree that college sack production usually translates to the pro game and Weaver has it in spades. This isn't a guy that looks like he's a 34 sack guy, but he's got some good athleticism, multiple moves, and he bends at the top of his arc well. I think you put this guy into an NFL strength and conditioning program and they'll mold this kid's body and strength and he could be a sneaky good player in Miami's 3-4 as a stand-up edge rusher. I'm not hurting for pass rushers, but this is a guy I feel like is a day 2 pick that fell and is too good of a value.

5-177 - WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michigan (6'2" 212, CLE #187)
I needed to come into this draft probably looking for two receivers and preferably one early, but I'm coming out with both of them late. I just can't come out of this with only one receiver and have to hedge my bets. I'm hinging hopes to Peoples-Jones who I really like as an athlete and traits-based guy. He's an explosive player that can do a lot of things but he's not consistent. He should have a great opportunity in Cleveland to put himself into the #3 role behind Landry and Beckham, Jr, and eventually become more should Cleveland unlock his incredible potential.

7-226 (f/CHI) - CB Thakarius "Bopete" Keyes, Tulane (6'1" 202, KC #237)
My CB room is depleted as noted in the Sneed pick, so going after multiple guys there is important. I really liked Keyes as a sleeper prospect and was thrilled when the Chiefs moved a 2021 6th for the rights to snag him in the 7th. I don't have to make the same move here, having a perfectly slotted pick from my trade down to take him a bit earlier. Keyes is another in-your-face CB with size and athleticism that may help the secondary moving forward.

Without further ado, here is my 2020 draft.

#1-32. Yetur Gross-Matos, DE (Panthers)

The first round fell in a way that didn't work great for my needs. I've got volume at DE already, but don't have high-level production. So Gross-Matos is my guy.

Other considerations: Delpit at SS, Trade down with the Bills to get Epenesa (DE), Wanogho (OT), and Derrek Tuszka (LB), or Trade down with the Jets to get Ashtyn Davis (FS), Troy Dye (ILB), and Bryce Hall (CB).

#2-64 - Zach Baun, LB (Saints)

I really have trouble finding linebackers. I figured Baun would go earlier, so he seemed like a great value here.

Other considerations: I didn't seriously consider anyone other than Baun. I briefly considered Cushenberry (C), and Gallimore (DT).

#3-96 - Lucas Niang, G/T (Chiefs)

I looked at other players, but our own Niang rose to the top considering my need for a guard.

Other considerations: I strongly considering trading down with the Jets to take Troy Dye and Bryce Hall, which then would have freed up my 4th rounder to take Bredeson (G), who I liked. But I'm pretty sure Niang will be starting and I wasn't sure about the other guys. I also considered Malik Harrison, Akeem Davis-Gaither, and Tyre Phillips.

#4-117 - Amik Robertson, CB (Raiders).

I was really interested in a couple of guys here, Robertson and Ben Bredeson. I was really torn on those two. I also considered Bryce Hall (CB) and Curtis Weaver (DE).

#5-138 - Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR (Browns).

He was really the only guy I seriously considered here. I need some WR talent and he seemed to be a good value here.

My only other consideration here was Prince Tega Wanogho, but it wasn't a serious consideration.

Agreed. He was the guy I wanted Veach to snag in the 5th. He has a great opportunity in Cleveland though.

Like your pick of Gross-Matos. If I wasn't locked into having to fix my defensive line, he's a guy I would have strongly considered at 32.

2020 ROSTER

I feel good heading into the season with this crew.

I'm thin at RB after Jones and Carson with Washington getting cut, so we'll see what happens between now and Thursday but at the moment I need to hope Washington catches on somewhere. I'm secretly hoping Veach snags Kerrith Whyte from Pittsburgh on waivers...

I think my additions on the defensive line should pay some dividends. Reports are that Phillips is looking solid in his return from a torn ACL and Blacklock has been a menace in Texans camp. If Madubuike can get some solid time in Baltimore as well as Sieler in Miami, I'll be looking much better there.

I'm a bit disappointed that Curtis Weaver got injured/waived then picked up by Cleveland. If he pays any dividends, it wouldn't be likely until 2022 so I cut ties with a 5th rounder early. I also felt ok with making big-boy cuts on the O-line with guys like Remmers and Reiter, as well as on the edge with Okafor because of my overall depth. Let go of some draft picks too, but I'm okay with it.

Overall, I'd say my offense is really good, albeit thin on depth this year. My defensive backfield is good, but again thin on depth. My front seven on defense remains underwhelming other than adequate defensive tackles.

Hello - prospective expansion franchise owner here. Thinking about setting this up tonight or tomorrow. Beyond the rules in the OP, any advice from you seasoned veterans?

It would be great if you did. Not many of us anymore. It's a fun exercise in that it provides some perspective on recoginizing talent year-over-year.

You end up needing to fill holes in your roster every season, sometimes surprising, and it tests you. I planned on going into this season looking to probably add more juice to my pass rush again, add a big-play WR, and so on, and now the Chiefs throw me a stud LG when I'm already pretty stout on the interior and leave me with no plan at OT. So, there are things like that where you think you're putting together a great roster and then you lose guys that you inherited to start.

Just keep drafting the best you can, trying to plan ahead for what the Chiefs will likely lose to FA that you will also lose while filling the holes. It definitely helps if you can hit on some of those mid-round guys in the 3rd-5th. It's strengthened my roster quite a bit at positions like WR, RB, and S. A year like this, where we'll have extra mid-rounders again, I'll probably do the same as I have in some other situations and throw two darts at the same position, hoping I hit on one of the two. Last year I did it with WR and hit on Davis while Peoples-Jones doesn't look so hot. I threw 2 picks at RB in 2017 in the 5th and 7th and hit on both... so you never know.

You get a bit of a benefit of hindsight in terms of where players end up going in the draft, but it's still on you to pick the right guys, and that's the fun in it for me.

(Assistant taps me on the shoulder and tells me, in whispered tones, that we are not being provided the same draft luxuries as past expansion franchises like the Texans and Jaguars. Instead, we have been given the Chiefs draft picks because the NFL has decided that having Patrick Mahomes is just unfair from a competitive standpoint, and as a results, the Chiefs are not allowed any more draft picks for the duration of Mahomes career. Instead, the Tacoma Trash Pandas will be gifted their picks annually. This kills two birds with one stone as Roger Goodell and his team don’t have to adjust the overall structure of the draft and can leave it at 32 picks per round).

I was really tempted to bundle #175, #181, and #207 for Washington’s #124 (mid-4th) to increase my odds of getting an extra “hit.” If I wait until after the draft, I should still be able to use those KC picks to get to #131 or #132. Not that much of a difference - I’ll see how the board plays out.

Im also super paranoid about adjusting my draft capitol now and then being precluded from a Draft day trade or a player acquisition (like Orlando Brown). I have to figure that out, and if Veach is moving and shaking, that’s going to be the best answer.

Sometimes you get surprisingly good value because the team makes an in-draft trade up or down. I don't know if I've done a pre-draft trade-up. I wanted to the year Mahomes was drafted because I thought the Chiefs wouldn't go up and get him but decided to stay pat and they did it. Never a happier a camper.

I think the problem lies more in where the tackles went this year. You have to give up so much to get to a guy in either the 1st or 2nd to get to the spots they went that it doesn't even seem worth fighting against the Chiefs' trade. Kind of disappointing. Then, if I make the trade I feel pigeon-holed to a few players after that.

I desperately worked through the mental gymnastics of trying to decline the OBJ trade just because I want my new roster to be unique (ie, use the Chiefs original 1st to draft a LT), but there just aren’t any scenarios that make sense with the post-draft pick trade devaluation. Given that, The Tacoma Trash Pandas are accepting the OBJ trade - the value is just too good.

Clarification/confirmation: Am I able to accept the Chiefs move up in the 5th round without the devaluation penalty? (Assuming I have pick #207 to enable that trade because the Chiefs had it when I started the game)

I am going to be ballsy and not accept the Chiefs' trade with Baltimore for OT Orlando Brown Jr.

This gives me a starting draft of 1-31, 2-63, 3-94, 4-136, 4-144, 5-175, 5-181, and 6-207.

I am going to accept the Chiefs' in-draft trade-up, acquiring 5-162 and 6-226 for 5-175 and 6-207.

I am going to execute a trade down from 5-181 with the Chicago Bears for picks 6-208 (acquired in their trade of Adam Shaheen in 2020), 6-221 (comp), and 6-228 (comp). 5-181 is 19.0 pts, discounted at 65% to 12.35 pts. 6-208 is 8.2 pts, 6-221 is 3 pts, and 6-228 is 1 pt good for 12.2 pts.

Jenkins is a ferocious blocker on the outside and shows potential to play either LT or RT in the NFL. I'm not banking on LT, as I've tried to hedge that bet later, but in listening to the Bears and his former collegiate coach talk, it seems he'll get his shot at the blind side.

Adebo is one of my favorite CBs coming out of this draft with good mirror skills and outstanding ball production. I think he has a shot to be an immediate starter in New Orleans and would have made a good pick for the Chiefs. He compliments Sneed on the outside and Byron Murphy in the slot on my team.

3-94 | ER Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma (6'3" 253)
Selected with 3-96 by New England

It seems I always gravitate towards taking a mid-round shot on an edge rusher and Perkins is no different here. I think Perkins was a first round caliber player that fell in the draft and Belichick seemed pretty excited to get him. Perkins may start out as a situational rusher but I don't think it'll take long to climb the ranks if he perfects his technique early on.

4-136 | OT Josh Ball, Marshall (6'7" 308)
Selected with 4-138 by Dallas

I'll say this, if not for the sexual assault issues for Ball at Florida State, he may have ended up a 1st or 2nd round player but transferring and missing time because of it on top of that made him fall further than his talent suggests. Ball will definitely get a shot at LT in Dallas, especially if Smith goes down again and certainly into the future.

4-144 | DT Daviyon Nixon, Iowa (6'3" 313)
Selected with 5-158 by Carolina

I really didn't need to add more to my defensive tackle group but this was too outstanding of a value. I saw Nixon as a Kawaan Short clone and certainly as a high 2nd round player. Nixon going in the 5th was blasphemy and I really think the Panthers got a steal here. Nixon should fight for a immediate reps on obvious passing downs and develop into a future starter, and potentially a star, in the NFL. I'm taking this shot.

5-162 | TE Noah Gray, Duke (6'3" 240)
Selected with 5-162 by Kansas City

Much like the actual Chiefs, I sorely lack a TE #2 on my roster so I'm cloning their move here and taking Gray. Gray has flashed some major potential as a receiving threat in an H-back type role. I think Reid will have some fun designing plays that put Gray and Kelce on the field at the same time to attack the middle of the field.

6-208 | LB Isaiah McDuffie, Boston College (6'1" 227)

I trade out of the 181st pick to get more darts late. I see McDuffie as much of the same type of player as former Packer Blake Martinez in that they are a little undersized but have good change of direction and solid speed to the sidelines. The one plus is that McDuffie flies around with reckless abandon and could endear himself to coaches early on. McDuffie never may be more than a special teams guy but I'll take that shot late in the 6th.

6-221 | OG Trey Smith, Tennessee (6'5" 321)

I had to grab Trey Smith late as KC did and take a shot on his lungs not being an issue. Smith is an absolute monster of a guard that had late 1st to early 2nd ability on the field. Obviously teams didn't like the clot issue and worry about his longevity but I'm banking on him having it under control and getting a stud that can slip in at RG for the forseeable future.

6-226 | WR Tre Nixon, Central Florida (6'0" 187)
Selected with 7-242 by New England

I'm going out on a limb here and taking Nixon to add some juice to my receiving corps that's pretty strong as it sits. I have faith that Belicheck is going to marry this kid to a jugs machine all offseason in an effort to eliminate his one real weakness: drops. Other than that, Nixon has great speed and outstanding separation ability at all 3 levels of the field in the mold of many Belichick slot receivers.

6-228 | RB Gerrid Doaks, Cincinnati (5'11" 228)
Selected with 7-244 by Miami

I was enamored with Gerrid Doaks in the pre-draft process and had to find a way to get him. Trading down provided an opportunity to get a couple other guys while still adding Doaks. Doaks is a bigger back with outstanding athleticism, can run inside or outside, and is outstanding in the passing game as a receiver and blocker. If Doaks can stay healthy, an issue in college at times, the sky is really the limit with his talent on the field.

Tacoma Trash Pandas’ Draft

Begrudgingly, I am accepting the OBJ trade because I see no other way to protect our starting quarterbacks blindside this season.

I am accepting the Chiefs draft day trade, acquiring 5-162 and 6-226 for 5-175 and 6-207.

I’m also stealing Kccrow’s trade down, swapping #5-181 for the Bear’s #6-208, #6-221, and #6-228 in an effort to have more unique players on my new expansion team (trying to diversify as quickly as possible).

I really wanted to make 100% unique selections different from the Chiefs, but a few of our selections were just too much value to pass up.

#2-58 Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forrest (Bills)

Basham is a big and athletic pass rusher who is capable of playing both outside and inside in a four man front. Although Buffalos edge position is very crowded with two servicable starters and Gregory Rousseau, I think Basham’s flexibility will allow him to see the field early and flourish. Looking ahead to the Trash Panda’s 2022 roster, this move was ,add proactively to give me flexibility in next years draft.

I also heavily considered Nick Bolton and Paulson Adebo at this spot. I passed on Bolton in an effort to diversify my roster from the Chiefs and Adebo because of injury concerns, even though he likely starts for the Saints this season.

#2-63 Creed Humphrey, OC, Oklahoma (Chiefs)

Brett Veach may be no Kellerfox, but he did have the right idea here. I can’t pass up the opportunity to draft the best center in the 2021 class who should be an instant starter.

#4-144 Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Memphis (Eagles)

While I love the idea of finding a long term answer at TE2 and considered taking a Brevin Jordan, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to lock in the drafts 4th best RB this late. Gainwell should slip into the RB2 role for the Eagles and is a fairly similar player to fellow Tiger Antonio Gibson in terms of play style. Given that Miles Saunders is made of glass, o expect Gainwell to see significant action this season and trust that he will never look back once he has seized his opportunity.

#5-162 Frank Darby, WR, Arizona State (Falcons)

In our quest for WR depth after the departure of Sammy Watkins, the Trash Pandas turn to Frank Darby. Darby is a bit of a tweener who is tough enough to make the tough catches in the middle but also has enough speed to get open deep. I like the opportunity he has in Atlanta to see early playing time which will spring board him into a hall of fame career.

#6-208 Isaiah McDuffie, LB, Boston College (Packers)

Undersized but great mobility. The Trash Pandas are going to give McDuffie a year or two to show us some upside, but we anticipate that LB will be a big need for us next year.

#6-221 Tay Gowan, CB, Central Florida (Cardinals)

Tay was a bit of a draft enigma. He was a late declaration, did not participate in camps, and has minimal film. Word on the street is, some teams had him slotted as high as the 4th so he is great value at this point and is primed to see snaps for the Cardinals this year.

#6-226 Trey Smith, OG, Tennessee (Chiefs)

How could I say no? 2nd round talent at #226? Like the Chiefs, I’m rolling the dice than Smith is healthy enough to be a long term solution at RG.

#6-228 Khyris Tonga, DT, BYU (Bears)

Big DT to reinforce the center of our DL, we see Tonga having great value as a late round flier. The knock against him is athleticism, he relies too heavily on strength. Will that allow him to succeed in the NFL? We shall see...

Oh, good catch on the Bopete thing. These all sound right.

#2-58 - Terrace Marshall, WR (Panthers)

My choice here came down to Marshall or ILB Nick Bolton. However, I'm desperate for WRs so Marshall filled a slot better for me.

#2-63 - Andre Cisco, FS (Jaguars)

We're okay on starters at safety, but will likely lose one or both in the next couple of years. Cisco seems like an instant starter and could even start for us as a rookie.

I debated between Cisco, WR Anthony Schwartz, and CB Paulson Adebo. If I needed a center, I would have definitely gone with Creed Humphrey. I really wanted Schwartz, but it seemed like a better pick to take Cisco.

#4-144 - Shaun Wade, CB (Ravens)

I'm generally pretty good at drafting CBs, so I've got a good stable. But I need another one with upside, and Wade is it.

The choice came down to Wade or TE Brevin Jordan. I need depth at TE, but it's hard to spend picks on the position when I've got Kelce there.

#5-175 - Cameron McGrone, OLB (patriots)

This was my toughest pick, because there were four players I really liked: McGrone, WR Simi Fehoko, ILB KJ Britt, and CB Deommodore Lenoir. I went back and forth on these guys and finally picked McGrone over Lenoir because I can't draft OLBs so I have to keep trying.

#6-209 - Sam Ehlinger, QB (Colts)

I need a developmental QB and didn't see any other prospects who wowed me, so Ehlinger was the only guy I considered.

#6-215 - Dazz Newsome, WR (Bears)

My WR group is weak, so I'll give Newsome a shot. I didn't really consider anyone else.

#7-223 - Trey Smith, G (Chiefs)

This was another tough one, because there were several guys I liked. Other than Smith, I was intrigued by G Jack Anderson, CB Israel Mukuami, and S JaCoby Stevens. Even though I'm very strong at G, I couldn't pass up Smith's potential.

#7-247 - Dylan Moses, ILB (Signed by Jaguars)

I traded down specifically to draft a couple of undrafted free agents. The first of those is Moses, who is trying to come back from a major knee injury. He got back onto the field, but with questions about how well his recovery went. I'll roll the dice. I didn't consider anyone else.

#7-258 - Marvin Wilson, DT (Signed by Browns)

This one's a big risk, but with potential reward. He looked good in the past, but had a terrible final year in college and also is apparently a vocal locker room guy in a way that's not welcomed. For a late pick I'll give him a shot, even though I already have a bunch of bodies at the DT spot. I didn't consider anyone else.

Think I missed the pre-training camp edit deadline - but I’m going to stick with my draft picks. I’ve been second guessing a few, but Im going to trust my initial decisions.

Rough news of Tevin Jenkins today (back surgery, out for a few months). Think he still has a bright future though.

I almost skipped the OBJr trade to go with Jenkins. Despite the setback, I think he's in a good situation to bounce back.

I think it has become obvious that the originally stated condition by Oklahoma State medical staff, that he had a "back strain," was not updated through any of the draft process. That "strain" magically followed him to the pros, which means it caused misalignment and, potentially, nerve damage.

I think there's a great chance he does bounce back, but I likely wouldn't have made the pick if I knew that it was something beyond a strain that was properly handled.

My 4th round guy, Ball, is out multiple weeks with a high ankle too. :D

Angry my physician team for not disclosing that Humphrey is a South Paw, but happy to have landed a perennial pro bowler.

The Eagles are very excited about Gainwell and so am I. Gainwell should be their primary pass catching back right off the bat, and will inevitably take over when Miles Sanders has his inevitable season ending injury. I expect Gainwell to have an Antonio Gibson - sequel rookie season if all goes to plan.

#5-162 Frank Darby, WR, Arizona State (Falcons)

Made the 53 man roster, but didn’t wow anyone. I have a tough decision ahead on whether to keep Darby, or roll the dice on a Fountain.

#6-208 Isaiah McDuffie, LB, Boston College (Packers)

I haven’t seen much of McDuffie, I think he may have been injured for much of camp. He did make the Packers roster, and they are thin at LB, so hoping it all comes together mid season.

Jenkins ended up on IR with his back surgery. We'll see if he returns in 2021, but this puts me in a rough spot at LT.

From everything I've seen and read, Adebo looks good and should see significant snaps this year. Hey may not get the starting gig over Crawley out of the gate, but it sounds like he will soon.

Perkins had a pretty good camp and was taking time from Winovich as a rotational pass rusher. He could develop into an asset quickly but he probably doesn't start with Judon and Van Noy there unless Bill changes to a 3-4 more frequently.

Ball ended up on IR and had a high ankle early so I really have no idea what I'll have here, if anything.

K-Pass is also a casualty as I'd rather hang onto the potential of oft-injured Okorowonko than limited productivity, hoping this is the year he gets out of the tub.

That said I'm not too disappointed in the roster sans my ability to rework the tackle position. I'm hanging onto Fisher as a last-ditch effort of hope that I'll have a left tackle at some point this season. Meanwhile, I'm hanging onto Wylie over Blythe just to have a RT at all. To be honest, I thought about hanging onto Schwartz as well in hopes he signs somewhere... Things are thin around here.

Speaking of bad luck with losing players to injury, I've also lost 'Bisi Johnson for the season with a torn ACL, but I literally have nobody but a practice squad player in Nixon to push him off the team. I'd rather hang on for next year with the kid than hope Nixon pushes his way into the league.

Looks like my CB/draft pick Tay Gowan is getting traded to the Eagles as a part of the Zach Ertz deal. A bit early to say he needed a change of scenery... But hopefully he can gain traction and opportunity in Philadelphia that wasn't happening in AZ.

My man Kenneth Gainwell about to get his shot as RB1 in Philly. Hopefully he grabs the bull by the horns and never lets go.

Rookie Report

1-31 | OT Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State (6'6" 317)
Jenkins ended up on IR with his back surgery so that really put a damper on things for me at LT. Jenkins eventually returned in week 14 and had two starts in week's 15 and 16 for an injured Peters where he looked like he could end up being a solid player at LT, he just needs to work on his hand placement so he doesn't lunge.

2-63 | CB Paulson Adebo, Stanford (6'1" 198)
Adebo looked really good as a rookie starting all 17 games and putting up 66 tackles, 3 ints and 8 pds. He could be a stud when he fully develops. I'm pretty giddy about this pick.

3-94 | ER Ronnie Perkins, Oklahoma (6'3" 253)
Perkins had a pretty good camp but ended up injured and ended the season on IR with no games played. We'll see how this one goes going forward. I've been on a pretty bad trend of drafting edge rushers that end up injured and underperforming.

4-136 | OT Josh Ball, Marshall (6'7" 308)
Ball ended up on IR and had a high ankle early and didn't play. Another guy I have to hope picks it up going forward.

4-144 | DT Daviyon Nixon, Iowa (6'3" 313)
Nixon had a good camp and got some playing time the first 7 games of the year with 9 tackles and 0.5 sacks. He had a knee injury and landed on IR after that. Talk about a mash unit...

5-162 | TE Noah Gray, Duke (6'3" 240)
Gray spent most of the season playing special teams and ehancing his role there but he also got moe work offensively finishing with 7 catches for 36 yards and a TD. Not all-world but he showed signs he could be a worthwhile player as he develops.

6-208 | LB Isaiah McDuffie, Boston College (6'1" 227)
McDuffie made the roster in Green Bay and saw action, mostly on special teams, in 13 games. Ended up with 2 whopping tackles on the season. The future looks... bright.

6-221 | OG Trey Smith, Tennessee (6'5" 321)
Smith is a stud and proved he's the 1st-round caliber player he should have been if not for that whole heart thing.

6-226 | WR Tre Nixon, Central Florida (6'0" 187)
I cut him after he missed New England's cut. He ended up on the PS all year with a RF deal for 2022.

6-228 | RB Gerrid Doaks, Cincinnati (5'11" 228)
I cut him after he missed Miami's cut. He ended up on the PS all year with a RF deal for 2022.

Overall Report
Pat Mahomes, Aaron Jones, and Travis Kelce remain studs.

I may need to look to replace Chris Carson as my thunder to Jones' lightning at RB after he had neck fusion surgery. He might come back, but it may not be the same.

Boyd's diminished role leaves me likely looking for a true #1 at WR.

Fisher starting 15 games in IND saved my season at LT so glad I didn't make that cut. Same goes for Andrew Wylie at RT.
Thuney and McCoy are studs. McGovern and Bozeman remain quality starters.

Defensively, I'm disappointed in Ross Blacklock. He was to be my stud DE in my 3-4 and he had 2 starts with 22 tackles and 2 sacks in year 2. So far, not so good. That said, the rest of my rotation was solid. My other pick from the same draft, Justin Madubuike, started 11 games in Baltimore and had 36 tackles and 2 sacks so he's ascending. Carlos Watkins, who I was ready to give up on, actually ended up with 14 starts, 32 tackles, and 1 sack. Zach Sieler started 9 games and played in all 17 with 62 tackles and 2 sacks. Wharton had action in 17 games with 28 tackles and 2 sacks and Jarran Reed had 17 starts, 43 tackles, and 2.5 sacks. I could lose Reed so I'll need a NT.

I had good starting rush OLBs again with Houston and Judon but the failure of Ximines and Okoronkwo developing has my cupboard bare. I may have to spend a high pick at the position with Houston getting old.

My linebackers are pretty good with Holcomb (142 tkl, 1 sk, 2 ff, 2 int, 7 pd) and Wilson (100 tkl, 1 sk, 1 ff, 4 int, 4 pd) being studs on the inside and Hitchens in reserve (80 tkl, 2 pd, 1 int).

My triple threat of Adebo, Sneed (76 tkl, 1 sk, 2 int, 8pd), and Murphy (64 tkl, 0.5 sk, 4 int, 12 pd) are as good as it gets and young. I'm happy as a pig eating shit at CB but may need to improve the depth (Baker and Hughes).

Jessie Bates, despite a down year, remains one of the best safeties in the NFL (88 tkl, 1 int). Mathieu was Mathieu but he's probably out. Tarvarius Moore finally had a solid season as a reserve for me with 8 starts and 52 tackles. Amani Hooker started the season on IR with a foot injury but came back looking like a solid get for me in the 4th and could replace Mathieu for me. He had 12 starts in 12 games with 62 tackles, 1 int, and 4 pd.

I'd gauge my needs as:

I'm hoping my draft picks gain traction. It was not a good rookie year for most of them, but a number of them started getting action late in the season. So I have optimism that I'll see more production next year.

#2-58 Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forrest (Bills)

Carlos was a key backup in the Bills heavy DL rotation. While his overall production didn’t match with my expectations due to limited playing time, he certainly flashed when he was given opportunities to the tune of 2.5 sacks and multiple pressures. He’s projected to get more playing time next year, so we will keep sitting on him as a developmental prospect.

Nailed it.

#4-144 Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Memphis (Eagles)

Gainwell emerged as a dynamic threat logging 534 APY and 6 TDs. However, the Eagles were hesitant to give him RB1 carries despite injuries ahead of him on the depth chart. Gainwell may be destined to be a complimentary back in a RBC.

#5-162 Frank Darby, WR, Arizona State (Falcons)

Despite a weak position group, Darby could not get on the field. Looking like a dud.

OLB - I've been trying to draft at this position for a decade. I never invest high picks and maybe I finally need to. I'm adding Elijah Lee as a free agent, but he's probably depth.
ILB - I may not even have a body at this position. Very high priority. However, I'm picking up Carter as a possible fill-in.

Moderate priority
CB - This area is moving from a huge strength to a weakness as my players decline.
DE - I need at least one starting DE
WR - I keep investing high draft picks and whiffing. I need a #1 and #2 WR at least. However, it looks like I'm picking up a couple of hot new free agents with the Chiefs, so this might even be a low priority.

TE - I need a TE3 but am otherwise good.
OT - I could use some depth and an OTOTF, but am otherwise fine. I'll also pick up Christian as a free agent.

We seem to be out of sync by 1 spot for each pick in the 6th round or later. I’ve see your numbers listed a few places and mine listed a few places. No idea what’s going on or which is right.

I know that sometimes draft picks alternate with tiebreakers, so we'll just sort that out when the draft comes.

I won't have the bevy of picks that the real Chiefs get. I should see how I drafted instead of Tyreek in 2016.

The only issue I see is how we handle this:

When the trade for Hughes was made, we didn't then know which 6th round pick it would be. For me, I made the trade for Hughes but not the trade for OBJ and that was with the assumption that it would be the Chiefs' 6th and not the one acquired from Baltimore. I didn't accept the Melvin Ingram trade though. For me, it's kind of easy to rectify, just lose 209, gain 234 and I never get 191 and it all evens out. Not sure if anyone else tried to do both Hughes and Ingram and not OBJ though?
