There is no Saturday competition on the sports calendar from February through August...make them afternoon/night races, attendance will increase even if they have to shift to Sunday. 10,000 people at Bristol, which houses 140,000 is a ****ing pathetic site and a travesty...and it's all on Nascar. If they want to die, so be it. |

It's all good, I'm sure they're do whatever it takes to keep from dying. |
Nascar is heading back to the channels like TNN and small guys again.

Larson is driving a whole lot of reckless there.
Wow...Every driver is driving a whole lot of reckless... It's Bristol, Baby! |

My thoughts: 1. Tracks lack state of the art drainage and irrigation systems 2. Cost of testing new tires 3. Too many race cars on the track 4. Cost of repaving 5. Altering the design of certain tracks 6. Grass removal 7. Eliminating the jobs of jet blowers :D 8. Rate of innovation in technology come to a halt 9. Game over NASCAR has rain tires. According to the Weather Channel, heavy downpours over the weekend caused a landslide on the Route leading to Bristol. The highway was closed. Fans in campgrounds near the speedway had to move to higher grounds when the flood waters began to rise. Schools in more than a dozen districts in that area were closed Monday as the water recedes. |
NASCAR should shorten the length of their races. In Formula 1, there is a maximum time limit of two hours for a race -
F1's tire supplier Pirelli testing program takes place throughout the year. They constantly make changes to tire compounds and tread patterns. Pirelli have some interesting videos on YouTube that features F1 drivers or F1 test drivers running wets on an artificially soaked track. I read that Pirelli is hoping to have a second wet tire compound for the Chinese GP. You have to watch this video - The most amazing driving that I have ever seen in my life in a downpour of rain in the 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix. "Max Verstappen's drive in the 2016 Brazilian GP earned him comparisons to Formula One legends like Senna and Schumacher" https://youtu.be/RHG20WjnuLQ?t=10 |
