Eh, it's St. Louis. All the difference in the world between 'in danger' and 'near danger.'

They're a block from The Fox theatre and less than that from SLU main campus. Their entire backside abuts a high school football field.

They close as early as they do because, like Pappy's they cook and serve until the stuff they made fresh that day runs out.

Oh...I know the area...quite well. I've been in that neck of the woods regularly for business for nearly a decade. Finding something decent to eat that's not 30 minutes away, in the evening, is challenging.

Well, now the good news is you'll always have IKEA for bright lights, open spaces, and all the steamed salmon you can handle. ;)

I was shocked how decent pizza ranch chicken was. I would never go there during a rush though.

Another pic to give you an idea of how the chicken comes together.

Secret tip, they'll give you an extra little cup with the final 'dip' of heat they dunk the chicken in [we'll call it chili oil], and you can take it home with you with the bread under, and it's great to toast the bread and dip it in the sauce, to go with any leftovers you have.

Also, just look at the presentation they put into a side of deviled eggs [they top them with a slice of pickled okra, don't know why they're not in the picture].

Dude, if you're talking about my leftover bread/sauce tip. Sure it's bread and oil, but when it's as spicy as that you're not getting calories out of the bargain.

One chicken wing and one slice of bread and you won't want to eat anything the rest of the day. And even if you did, your mouth would be in such and uproar it would go on strike. ;)

Not to mention, the spice likely sends your metabolism through the stratosphere.

The best I've ever had is at Willie Mae's Scotch House.

A new fried chicken place opened up about a block from my house. I was pretty excited to give it a try and finally got to it last week. It was pretty good, even though the proportions were pretty small. It annoys me when I get two side dishes, and then when I get home my "side dishes" are in those little condiment containers. Can you give me an actual serving, please?

The good news is that they serve french fries. I now have access to french fries one block away. How cool is that?
